Do you love to go
to the beach when on vacation? We all love nature, the environmental places in Indonesia is flawless.
But, right now. Environmental things in Indonesia are being damaged. By who? Humans of course. We
are the cause of environmental damage in Indonesia. How those happen? Well, that’s why I’m here. But
before we begin, let me greet you guys.

Assalamualaikum WR. WB. My name is Muhamad Boy Syahraga and I’m standing here to deliver a
speech with the theme of “ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE IN INDONESIA”

Ladies and gentlemen, what do we know about environmental?

Environmental is a place where there are biotic and abiotic things. Such as trees, humans, animals, rock,
water, and many things that even I cant describe it. That is called environmental.

So, we are going to discuss the environmental damage in Indonesia.

If environmental is a place where there are biotic and abiotic things, then environmental damage is a
place where there are biotic and abiotic things that have been damaged.

So, how to prevent it? Its easy? How? Do the 3R.

-reuse, is using again things that we think that cant be used again. For example, plastic bag that can be
used again for a few times.

-reduce, is we were reducing for using plastic things. So that plastic trash, will not increase.

-recycle, recycle is like the reuse. But recycling is turning the trash into something more useful. For
example. An already used paper can be recycled for to be a brand new paper.

And then after all of that, there still many people who don’t do the one of the 3R. They still littering,
don’t care about everything.

So, how to fix this stubborn habit?

Instead of telling them everyday to do the 3R and not littering. Why don’t we just teach them?

By teaching them, they will learn what we taught.

You give them an example of how to put the trash properly.

So that they will realize the important things of not littering.

And also ladies and gentlemen.

What will happen to the environmental places, if the places already damaged?

For example, let’s take a look at the sea. Beach precisely, we love to go to the beach. Seeing the reef and
the many species of fish in there. But suddenly, you saw a plastic bag. Being carried by the wave, and
sink to the reef. If that plastic remain there for a long time. The reef will get damaged. Why? Because the
plastic contain poisons that will damage the reef, and what will happen if the reef is being damaged?

The reef will be dead, and the fish that live in there will die too because they don’t have a safe places to
live.

And also, I found an article stated that some tourist divers in Bali found a lot of trash in the sea while
diving. That is a heartbreaking news. Our famous beach in Bali is already being damaged.

Just imagine, while you were happily diving. And a plastic trash passing by saying hello to you. That is
extremely disgusting.

And also, the Riau incident that cause a lot of protected forest, being burned down by some
irresponsible person who wants to expand their palm plantation.

You can see the effect right?

Malaysia, Singapore, and nearby country feel the effect of the smoke from the burned forest.

And, some province in Indonesia feel the effect. Massive smoke, unable to see, and hard to breath.

Indonesia is one of the worlds lungs, we now believe that nickname because of the riau incident.

So ladies and gentlemen, keeping our environmental is a very crucial thing. A very important things to us,
if you cannot protect a huge scale of environmental. You can protect the small scale one.

Where? In our house of course. How could we protect the forest, the beach and the sea. If we don’t
protect the environmental things in our house.
