Adding & Subtracting Polynomials

Polynomial : an expression that is a number, variable, or product

of the two with whole number exponents.

EX:
Monomial :
one term x 3y -a

Binomial :
Two terms 2x + 4 3x2 - 17

Trinomial :
Three terms x3 + 3x2 - 24

Like Terms terms with the same variables with exactly the
same exponents.

In order to add or subtract polynomials

they must be like terms.

Standard Form terms of the polynomial are ordered from the greatest power of
one of its variables to the least power of that variable.
