What are we working on?

This week we will be learning

Some Notes:
some new, BIG words to add to our
vocabulary. Your students will be
learning the basics about synonyms,
or similar, words. We will be using an
award-winning book titled Big,
Bigger, Biggest by Nancy Coffelt. This
will be our book of focus this week,
and we will read this book several
times this week. Our focus book was
on the CCBC Choices and Texas 2x2
Lists; both lists are an honor that is
bestowed to authors by a committee
of librarians and literature experts.
• This week begins STAAR testing
for our older friends, so there will
be no visits during lunch on the
9th, 10th, and 11th.
• As we are working on our new
BIG words, try to incorporate the
ones they remember into some
conversations for practice.
• We are building our reading
stamina daily! Try to read some
books at home with mighty
readers.
