What we are learning

This week in reading we have been focusing on main characters and the changes they go
through. We have been discussing text-to-self connections and using graphic organizers as a
strategy to improve our reading comprehension. We have been working on identifying the
subject and predicate of a complete sentence and will begin drafting a personal narrative on
our favorite thing to do in our community. In math, we will be working on improving our
addition fact fluency, and will continue working on place value. In social studies, we are focusing
on describing urban, suburb, and rural communities. In science we will learn about the states of
matter and will classify objects as solid, liquid, or gas by their properties. We will also learn
about how objects can change from on state to another.
