SCOPE OF WORK (Transmission analysis)

Power Evacuation Philosophy

• Reliability Analysis
• Basic Evacuation Layout
• Selection of the type of transmission system (HVDC/HVAC)

• Impact of Battery storage along with PV

• Scope coverage:
• Choosing appropriate voltage level at which the generated power needs to be transmitted
• No. of pooling substation and their voltage level
• No. of power evacuation substation and their voltage level
• Selection of Optimum Transmission Voltage (HVAC or HVDC) by analyzing the trade-off between the
capital cost and transmission losses
• Type of HVDC link (i.e. VSC/LCC)
• Associated battery bank impact

System Studies and Specifications

• Load Flow Study including both peak and off-peak scenario

• Startup synchronization strategy for AC and DC system
• Short-circuit study including both peak and off-peak scenario

• Reactive power compensation analysis

• Transient Stability Simulation

• Cyclic Loading Calculation
• Assessing the requirement of STATCOM or SVC for reactive power compensation and to propose the
suitable rating of compensation
• Transmission network design report (including bill of quantity) to be used for inputs to 'financial
model'

Deliverable:

1. Load flow analysis of the network must include short circuit level & power level at 66kV bus at Sr.

2. Inputs to 'production costing model' and 'financial model'
3. Sizing of Transmission system (optimization of conductors & losses) along with Identification of
location of plants in solar field, switchyards & HVDC terminals.
4. Sizing of DC & AC solar generation plant including necessary documentation along with PSSE file
upto 66kV AC bus (at solar pooling stations of 66kV) (with & without battery storage).
