STRUCTURAL EVALUATION REPORT FOR FSNI BUILDING

Roof Strengthening

CFRP Strips are widely used for strengthening of roof to enhance its structural capacity as well as good
finish. The use of CFRP laminates is selected due to their characteristics of high strength, low weight,
and easy to apply to the roof surface. This technique introduced considerable saving in comparison to
conventional repair methods proposed for the same building. The application process of the CFRP strips
requires minimum effort and does not interrupt the use of the building during construction. Ductility,
stiffness and energy absorption capacity of the roof was strengthened by CFRP strips. Flexural as well as
shear capacity of roof is enhanced by using CFRP strips. CFRP strips is to be perfectly bonded to the roof
surface. This perfect bond is achieved by using adhesive epoxies.

Masonry Walls Strengthening

Masonry brick wall is strengthened by providing steel along the wall on both sides and shotcrete of 2
inch thick. It will enhance the load bearing capacity of walls and will take into account all the
deficiencies in masonry walls structure.
