QFIesta – QFI Chennai’s carnival of quizzing

Chennai: It’s time to dust off those quizzing hats! The Quiz Foundation of India-Chennai
and the IIT-Madras Quiz Club will jointly host QFIesta, a two-day quiz fest, on Saturday
and Sunday, July 18-19, 2015. QFI’s members will conduct four major quizzes, all of
which are open to participants of all ages.

“The QFI is one of the oldest quizzing communities in India, and so the QFI Open Quiz is
one of the most entertaining, informative quizzes around,” says R. Jayakanthan, QFI
Secretary. “This is the eleventh year in a row that we’re organising this quiz festival, and
we hope to make it a very special success.”

Date and Times:

DAY 1 - Saturday, July 18, 2015


9:30 am – General Quiz
2:30 pm – HisGraphy: The History & Geography Quiz

DAY 2 - Sunday, July 19, 2015


9:30 am – The Sports Quiz
2:30 pm – The QFI Open Quiz

Registration fees: Rs. 100 per team for each quiz. (This fee is waived for school
teams.)

Please be registered and seated at the venue at least 15 minutes before the start of
each quiz, since seating will be allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Team size: A maximum of THREE members per team

Venue: Central Lecture Theatre, near Gajendra Circle, IIT Madras

Attractive prizes for the top three teams in every quiz, special school team prizes, as well
as plenty of audience prizes, are up for grabs.

The quiz will bring to a wider audience the same mix of light-hearted fun and serious,
high-standard quizzing that is seen at the QFI’s fortnightly meetings. The QFI meets
every alternate Sunday at the P. S. Senior Secondary School, Mylapore.
