DCU Open Day

SPORTS RESULTS:
RUGBY:

On Friday 20th of November, we got to visit DCU for the first of their two
Open Days this year. For 2 and a half hours we had the opportunity to get
a taster of the over 70 courses that DCU offers. The NUI Maynooth Open
Day will follow this Friday the 27th November.

The TY Rugby team sadly

lost 21-14 against St
Andrews College.
SOCCER:
Some of the TY boys played
in a match against St.
Michaels College in UCD
but unfortunately they lost
4-1.
HOCKEY:
The Senior 1s and 2s
played together against
Holy Child Killiney.
Unfortunately they lost,
despite a very good second
half performance.

Careers Evening
Junior 1s played Rathdown
School and the match
ended with a score of 0-0.
Well done to all who
participated.

On Thursday the 19th of November, many fourth years took part in the
Careers Evening with the fifth and sixth years. We talked to different
parents and past pupils about their careers and courses. We definitely got
a great insight into the working world!

Photography Course
Five groups of eight took part in the Photography Course last week with
Ms. Una Armstrong. The students got the chance to learn the basics of
good photo taking and used amazing equipment to take beautiful portrait
photos. We will show some to you all as soon as the Newsletter team gets
them!

YSI wants to say Thank You!

Ms. Kavanaghs YSI group, who held their Refugee Awareness Week last
week, received many items to give to refugees. Lots of students from each
year brought in more than what they were asked for, which was brilliant.
The YSI group says thank you for all the help! This week they will still be
looking for more items to give to the Dun Laoghaire Refugee Centre. Bring
in anything you can and leave it on the table in the Atrium.

James McManus, founder of Irelands only adventure travel company,

Earths Edge, came to talk to us on Tuesday the 17th of November. He
spoke about his love for travel, his business, and the expedition he offers
to students our age in Morocco. Loads of us were interested in this trip
and signed up for further information.
