I.T. Isnt Just for Geeks

Sports Results:

Rugby:
The Transition Year boys
had an unfortunate loss
against Clongowes Wood
College. The result was
33-14.

This week, the DCG and Applied Maths classes had their talk on
I.T. Everyone was very excited to attend as we were told that it
was going to be a very interesting talk which it definitely was.
The two speakers discussed various career paths and the
oppourtunities a Career in IT can bring. This talk certainly proved
that I.T isnt just for geeks!

CARA

Hockey:
The Junior 1 team had a
fantastic draw against
Wesley College. It was
their first league match of
the season.
Senior 2 had an amazing
game against The High
School in which they won
5-0, with Laoise Geraghty
and Sarah Kenny scoring.

Bray Lakers Talk

Ms. Buckleys YSI groups project is called Time for Tech. As part of this, they
invited two volunteers in from Bray Lakers to tell us about what their organisation
does to help people with Special Needs. It was a very enlightening talk and we all
learnt a lot about the challenges and obstacles faced every day by Bray Lakers and
the people they help.

The Zoo Trip

On Thursday, all of Transition Year went on the much awaited trip to the
Zoo. Throughout the morning we were allowed to explore the Zoo
ourselves and discover the various animals. It was amazing to be so close
to the different animals and how the Zoo cares for them. Before lunch we
came together for a talk on conservation from one of the keepers. We
were very interested in how the Zoo worked and we learnt many
interesting facts about The Zoo.
