EPIDEMIC THYPUS

Patient (Mrs.Rara) : Rara Suci Ramadhan

Familly (Mr.Kholis) : Nur Kholis

One day Patient came to hospital named Mrs.Rara with her husband Mr.Kholis she
suffered from fever,rash and headache that gradually not getting well then she checked
her condition to nurse.

Mr.Kholis : “Good morning nurse,My wife is sick .Could you please Check her?”

Nurse : “ Good morning too,Of course how are you feeling today Mrs.Rara?

Mrs.Rara : “ Im suffering from headache and also I have got a rash in my skin.Im afraid of
myself. Actually whats wrong with me nurse?”

Mr.Kholis : “ is my wife got thyphus nurse?”

Nurse : “ Okay – okay , be calm . May I know How long has this been going on mrs.Rara?”

Mr.Rara : “ Its about three weeks nurse ,Actually my house is near to beach .My job is
cocounut seller , I sell it to beach visitor ,Im used to drink cocounut water under cocounut
tree for refreshing .But at night I feel fever till now then day by day I got rash.”

Nurse : “ Do you ever contact with flying squirrels?”

Mrs.Rara : “ Yes , I often look some squirrels on the cocounut tree when Im sitting.”

Nurse : “ Do you drink cocounut water from that tree also?”

Mrs.Rara : “ Yes ,I do”

Nurse : “ Well My diagnose for your illness is you are suffering from thypus . Its called
Epidemic thypus. But to know it further more you need to do a blood test.Epidemic thypus is

Spread to people through contact with infected body lice or expose to flying squirrels and
their nests.

Mr.Kholis: “ So do you mean my wife got infected by squirrels when she was sitting under
the cocounut tree nurse?”

Nurse : “ Yes ,Mr probably.I will give your wife treatment with antibiotic. Here its
Doxycycline it will help your wife recover quickly.”

Mrs Rara & Mr.kholis : “ Thank you nurse.”

Nurse : “ I hope you will get soon Mrs.Rara .“

Mr.Kholis and Mrs.Rara are not worried anymore, after a week Mrs.Rara is getting
well.She can sell cocounut tree happily without illness.
