PROCEDURES checklist
 The great pencil challenge
 Morning routine (start on morning work
which will be on the board then silent read
then we correct)
 Dismissal for recess (I dismiss you, NOT the
bell)
 End of day dismissal (agendas signed then
in backpack, silent read then tap on shoulder
to get stuff and quietly line up) *model*
 Agendas and homework (pink slip)
 In and out baskets
 Pencil sharpening (only 1 person at the
sharpener at a time)
 Traffic light system (consequences) –
individual – goes in agenda for parents to
sign off on what kind of day you had
 Marble system – whole class- gain or lose-

 Yacker Tracker (lose marbles)
 Give me 5 (use marble system if not
listening) *model*
 Classroom jobs and calendar *model*
 Classroom library (2 out at a time, use clip)

 Reading corner and black chairs (schedule
will be made- share pillows-needs to be
quiet or you go back to desk)
 Classroom values
 O’Canada (face the flag, stand tall and
proud, no distractions) *model*
 Lining up (I call out who can line up)

 Hall pass system (1 per day- use your
recesses and lunch for the washroom)

 What to do when you are finished (read,
finish homework or finished early basket –
keep it organized!)
 Emergency procedures (fire drill, lock
down)
