In the interests of your safety a nd the safety of others, we would request you take a minute to
thoroughly read this brochure. If there is anything unclear, please ask a staff mem ber.

VISITOR'S ACCESS TO THE SITE:

All visitors are required to first proceed to the main reception area to sign the visitor's register and
to obtain a Visitor's Pass. We request that you return to reception to sign out before departing the
site.

Signing in and out is important, as it facilitates speedy evacuation of visitors, should an emergency
arise which requires the site to be evacuated.

Drivers either loading or unloading in the terminal are not required to sign in; they are required to
remain in or with their vehicle at all times.

Drivers are not permitted to enter the warehouse.

Visitors are not permitted to enter the terminal and warehouse areas of the site unless
accompanied by a staff member.

SITE SAFETY RULES


PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
AII persons entering aII areas of the terminaI, other than the administration buiIding and the visitor's car
park, are required to wear high visibiIity vests or high visibiIity shirts.
Visitors who wiII be visiting the terminaI or warehouses wiII be issued with a high visibiIity vest.
Footwear must b fuIIy encIosed. Thongs or sandaIs are not permitted. For visitors or drivers working on
site, safety footwear must be worn.
SMOKING:
Smoking is not permitted in any Office or Warehouse of the Freight Station site, except in the designated
areas outside. PIease use ashtrays provided for discarded butts.
CONSUMPTION OF FOOD & DRINK:
The consumption of food and drink is onIy permitted in the staff Iunchro ms, the outside area adjacent to
the administration buiIding Iunchroom and the administration buiIding. For safety reasons food and drink
may not be taken into the terminaI or warehouse.
SAFE WALK AREAS:
There re designated safe waIk areas in the terminaI and yard. Pedestrians are requested to remain in the
safe waIk areas as far as possibIe.
ForkIifts and vehicIes wiII cross the safe waIk areas, so pIease be aIert to vehicuIar traffic in the terminaI.
VISITOR'S IDENTIFICATION:
PIease wear your visitor's pass so that it is visibIe at aII times.
VEHICLE SPEED LIMITS:
The terminaI speed Iimit is 5km/hr in the undercover area and 1Okm/hr in the yard. ForkIifts have right of
way over aII other vehicIes.
FORKLIFTS:
ForkIifts access aII areas of the terminaI, o pIease drive sIowIy around corners, keeping a watch for
forkIifts. VehicIes must give way to forkIifts. Riding on forkIifts as a passenger or riding or being Iifted on
forkIift tynes is forbidden.
SAFETY & ADVISORY SIGNS:
These signs exist for the safety of aII persons in the terminaI. PIease observe and obey the instructions.
PARKING:
Parking of cars is onIy permitted in the designated car park on site and at the owner's risk. Car parking in
the terminaI is not permitted. Truck parking and standing is not permitted on the roads within the terminaI,
unIess specificaIIy authorised by a supervisor or fIeet controIIer.

INJURIES:
Any injuries sustained on site, no matter how minor, must be reported immediateIy to a member of staff
and an entry must be mad in the injury register.
First Aid is avaiIabIe on site.
CONTRACTORS WORKING ON SITE:
If your work on site is other than stocktaking, Ioading or unIoading, then you wiII most IikeIy require a Work
Permit. This permit must be obtained before commencing any work.
SITE EVACUATION INSTRUCTIONS:
The chance of site evacuation occurring during your visit is very remote. However, shouId an emergency
situation arise, which requires the evacuation of the site, evacuation aIarms wiII sound across the entire
site.
ShouId this happen, pIease remain caIm and obey the instructions of the staff member accompanying you.
Using the safest most direct route, you shouId proceed to the Emergency AssembIy Point Iocated at the
pedestrian gate entrance to the site from Administration buiIding and carpark.
If for some reason it is not safe to assembIe at the main Emergency AssembIy Point, then the second
assembIy point to be used is the main carpark.
Onc at the assembIy point, you shouId wait untiI the visitor's roII is caIIed and you are noted as being
present.

IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE ACCOUNT D FOR; OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE
REPORTED TO THE EMERGENCY SERVICES AS A MISSING PERSON.

Our Staff are aII trained to deaI with on site em rgencies and we request that you giv them y ur fuII
co-operation, so that they may ensure your safety and the safety of others during an evacuation.
