Student Writing Reflection Sheet

Assignment Title: Q2 Mid-Unit: Beowulf

Student Writing Goal: My writing goal was to see if I can learn to write my quickly and come up ideas for the essays
easier. I also wanted to make sure that I didn’t summarize as much and learn to explain my quotes better.

Instructions:
1) Re-read the paper (and teacher feedback).
2) Complete this reflection sheet.

What was the purpose of this writing assignment?

The purpose was to display the values that Anglo-Saxons had. I was a great way to analyze on how to find
metaphor or thing of the like. It also allowed us to understand the text more than just words, learned to
analyze better.

How did you perform in relation to the expectations of the writing rubric?
I was pretty okay with it however there was moments in which I could’ve been clearer in my explanations,
there was more could have put into the explanations. Overall it wasn’t too bad but I should look over it more.

What aspect of this piece did you do well? (give example/quotes to support claims)
I happy with the pieces of evidence that I chose for the essay, they were fairly easy to explain and understand.
I also like the way I summarized the story, not giving to much details but just enough so the reader can
understand my points.

Why have you/haven’t you chosen to revise this writing assignment?

I’m not choosing this essay mainly because it would require me to expand way too much.

What will you do better in your next writing assignment, and how will I do it?
In the next I will write the essay more quickly so that way I will have time to be able to revise it. I will also
use as much as I can to pull out the details in the quote to help better my explanations. I would also not rely
so much on the big details.

To what degree of success did you achieve your previously stated goal(s)?
I say that most have been meet. All I really have to focus on is to revised my essays more, check errors, make
sure that I was on track. I would say that I did achieve most of the goals.
