LOAD SHEDDING

Introduction:

Load shedding is what electric utilities do when there is a huge

demand for the electricity that exceeds the generation available.
The alternative is to have a brown-out where the voltage is
reduced. Load shedding is not the global phenomenon.It is a part
of some third world countries. The state of power failure in
Pakistan began early in the 2008 with the resurgane of
democracy and continue in the 2016. It intensifies the long
summer , with many places around country have no electricity
of three hours daily, sometimes it is scheduled while mainly it is
unscheduled and the last ten years load shedding getting worst
in Pakistan. Government should give the serious attention for
the resolve of this problem.

Factors of Load Shedding:

There are many factors by which load shedding is occurs. Few
are discussed below.

* Shortage of River Water:

The cause of load shedding is the shortage of river water by
which electricity is not produce on its demand. The MW not
available as it's requirement.

* Over Population:
The population of Pakistan increases day by day due to which
electricity have devided in all areas. The area which have more
population have suffers more load shedding. Punjab is the
biggest province of Pakistan by the population suffers more as
the population increases new connections are also cause of load
shedding. Electricity supply to villages and the low generation
are also included.

* Fewer Dams:
The major factor behind this power shortage is the lack of water
reservoirs. When the heavy rain or flood comes the water
becomes excess but the storage damns are very few for this
reason water cannot save for the production of more electricity.
All the central governments is spoke for the construction of
damns, espically the mega project Kala Bagh Damn has been
discussed for the last decades but it can't be make for the lack of
political parties coperation.
* Misuse of Available Resources:
The available sources are not properly used by which electricity
is not produces over its demand this is also cause of load
shedding. The solar and atomic power is don't used in the
production of electricity.

* Lack of consensus:
The lack of cooperation of political parties also affects in every
issues of the country this also affects the production of
electrilcity. They didn't have unity for the resolve problem of
load shedding. They didn't accept views of each other.

* Government Don't Pay Attention:

Every developing country wants the attention of their
government to solve their problems. The government of
Pakistan didn't give properly attention for the solution of load
shedding.They only gave dates to their audience and on their
given dates they do not complete their promises. Government
should pay attention for the main problem of the nation and
solve it as soon as impossible.

* Wastage Of Electricity:
The wastage of electricity is also cause of load shedding.
Unnecessary use of things like fan tube lights do not avoided.
The people have must fulfill their responsibilities to the nation
and do not waste electricity so that every people take their rights
.

*Power Theifs:
Every one believes that lack of attention of government is the
main cause of load shedding but the actual reason behind this is
the power theifs. This type of theifs making the contacts with
the government servant. They stolen electricity by kunda when
the KESC or K- Electric caught theifs they give some payment
to their servants and they easily discard from their crime. The
requirement payment does not arrive to the government this
goes into the pocket of some black sheeps.

* Circular debt:
The another cause of load shedding is the circular debt which
means KESC does not pay to WAPDA and WAPDA does not
pay to Government.
*Effects Of Load Shedding:
All developings countries including Pakistan
suffers socially , mentally and economically.

Social affects of the loadshedding on the society

* Affects on Student:
Loadshedding are mostly affect on student because load shedding
sometimes scheduled and sometimes unscheduled by which students does
not gives their proper concentration on studies which affects their results.
Primary and Higher secondary students are very disturbed due to load
shedding they didn't complete their assignments or their home works on
time .

*Affects On Patient:
The worst affect of load shedding in on the patients when the power is
break down patients faces many problems. Patients feels irritation in
summer and in winter the darkness of hospital gives them the horrible
experience due to which they are not readily recover. On the other hand
Doctors also faces problems because load shedding is the reason by
which they didn't give proper treatment to their patient. Many times they
delayed their opeartion times because of load shedding.
* Shortage Of Water:
When the load shedding is occur water supply is stopped and water does
not arrive to the residence area by which people suffers a lot because of
the shortage of water domestic life getting totally disturbed.

*Darkness On Street And Roads:

Because of load shedding street lights are not glow in night due to which
darkness is spread in all over the road and in the streets if any car or bike
have not properly working of head lights they have danger of accident
and in the street if any digging of gas line or water line children have
danger to drawn into them.
*Difficulty in Offering Prayers:
Pakistan is an islamic country many peoples do prayers in night the load
shedding in night gets disturbed into their prayers.

*Death Occurs:
Unscheduled load shedding is the reason of increasing death in summer
and the lack of attention of K-electric they do not work properly in
providing electricity to those areas which have the more necessity like
hospital residential areas .The last ramzan is the evidence of the lack
attention of K-electric in which the no of death in Karachi breaks the
previous records in the summers.
We discussed few social affects where as there is countless
affects of load shedding on socially by which we can say that:
" Peoples are tyrannized in so many ways "
Now we are discussing about the psycholigal affects of load shedding .
Psychological Affect of Load Shedding:
Following are the psychological affects:
* Frustration:
The power break down is the major cause of frustration of people.
They are getting high tempered because of the repeation of power break
down. Students , Patients , House Wives, Employers and all the peoples
suffers psychologically.

*Mental Diseases:
Mental ecperts said that poverty , lawlessness and many other problems
which comes by the electricity load shedding affects the brain and causes
the mental disease. School child's also suffers by mental disease mostly
said that they feel irritation in hot weathering because of the load
shedding. Government have must
Pay attention to resolve of load shedding and get rid of the people from
that types of pressure and tensions which affects the mental health.
*Sleeping Disorders:
People are not sleep well at the night because of the load shedding
espicall school going childern. Psychetrist said that government does not
occur night load shedding because peoples are suffering from mental
disorders .

*Affects on health:
Not sleeping well, frustration , stress affects the health of person. A
healthy is the person who is free from all these things. Load shedding
affects the person health by giving that types of tension.

which leds to the main cause of not doing work on
time .
