Classification:

Purpose:​ ​Hydrocodone is taken orally and is used to relieve pain ranging from moderate to
severe. It works in your brain to change how your body feels and responds to pain. *can also
reduce fevers

Side Effects:
➢ Stomach pain
➢ Dry mouth
➢ Tiredness
➢ Back Pain
➢ Headache
➢ Muscle tightening
➢ Difficulty, frequent or painful urination
➢ Difficulty falling or staying asleep
➢ Ringing in ears

Doses:​ This medicine comes as an extended-release capsule and a tablet to be taken by mouth.
The extended-release capsule is usually taken every 12 hours and the tablet once daily. They
should be taken around the same time(s) everyday.
Warnings:​ Hydrocodone is a pain relieving central nervous system (CNS) depressant with the
potential of abuse, misuse, or the development of a substance use disorder. Because hydrocodone
is so potent, it’s not uncommon for people to develop an addiction to it. The effects of
hydrocodone are similar to those of morphine and heroin. This is because all three drugs interact
with the same parts of the brain.
