hence niche marketing strategy will be the best for Chameleon heel.

13
CHAMELEON HEELS (A PROJECT OF PVT. LTD)

COMPETITIVE STRATEGY:
Patent, service, quality, innovation and price are the five parts of our competitive strategy.

Patent: The obvious part is the patent but lets not be under any illusions about it’s sole ability
to dominate the marketplace. People will still want the discount heel shoe. The shoe
companies that realize this will quickly adapt and probably make it from China. This eventually,
will be the end result with us as a high price set of options that can’t compete with the very
basic of heels. That is why we made the original Heel shoe an. With that they can enjoy their
loveable moments as cheaply as possible.

Service is the key to a business like this one. Most of the purchasers and end users will never
understand why it works the way it does. So the sales and service end of the business will be
crucial in making people feel comfortable with the purchase from sale to when it is being used.

Quality is a given due to the hard hitting nature of the full contact. There can be no short cuts
taken because any failure in any component of the shoe can quite easily have terrible
consequences. Every part of the shoe will be tested before it leaves the plant by a human
being.

Innovation is the reason that we are here in the first place. We will continually supply the
company with new ideas and direction as you will see in the rest of the plan. Where will the
other ideas come from? We are investing in the continual feedback mechanism through our
networking so we can find the areas of our products that need improvement.

Price is important at any time because everyone likes to complain about price even when they
are buying something expensive that they can’t afford. People are just that way. But price
management is its own art form when it comes to consumer based products. That’s why our
base product is a cap that goes over every single shoe instantly making it 30% more efficient to
an entire shoe system that is far superior in every aspect to the best shoes on the market today.

14
CHAMELEON HEELS (A PROJECT OF PVT. LTD)

belonging to age group from 18 to 34 so senior citizens are excluded from targeted
market of the Chameleon Heels

15
CHAMELEON HEELS (A PROJECT OF PVT. LTD)

Professionals:
These are full time working professional women. They typically earn more than $45,000
themselves. They will purchase shoes for the workplace as well as for leisure time. This group is
being targeted as they work full time and therefore have the need for many different pairs of
shoes for all of their different outfits. They also have the money to spend on shoes and will take
advantage of this reality as women typically love to collect lots of shoes.

House wives:
This segment has plenty of disposable income because of their husbands. These women love
shoes, and spend fair amounts of time shopping for shoes and clothing. The household income
of this group is $60k-$150k, generally toward the higher end of this range. This group is
attractive because they have the money and the time to shop for shoes. With both money and
time, there is no limit to the number of cool shoes that they would like to own.

Marketing mix:
(The 4 P's of Marketing)
Marketing decisions generally fall into the following four controllable categories:
 Product
 Price
 Place (distribution)
 Promotion
The term "marketing mix" became popularized after Neil H. Borden published his 1964 article,
The Concept of the Marketing Mix. Borden began using the term in his teaching in the late
1940's after James Culliton had described the marketing manager as a "mixer of ingredients".
The ingredients in Borden's marketing mix included product planning, pricing, branding,
distribution channels, personal selling, advertising, promotions, packaging, display, servicing,
physical handling, and fact finding and analysis. E. Jerome McCarthy later grouped these
ingredients into the four categories that today are known as the 4 P's of marketing, depicted
below

16
CHAMELEON HEELS (A PROJECT OF PVT. LTD)

The Marketing Mix

Product Place

Target
Market

Price Promotion

These four P's are the parameters that the marketing manager can control, subject to the
internal and external constraints of the marketing environment. The goal is to make decisions
that center the four P's on the customers in the target market in order to create perceived
value and generate a positive respose.

Chameleon shoes marketing mix is comprised of the following approaches to pricing,

distribution, advertising and promotion, and customer service.

Product
The product is the physical product or service offered to the consumer. In the case of physical
products, it also refers to any services or conveniences that are part of the offering . Chameleon
offers a wide range of sandals, stylish work shoes, loafers, Dress shoes and canvas athletic, all of

the customer with in the 6 months from the date of purchase.

Pricing:

Some examples of pricing decisions to be made include:

 Pricing strategy (skim, penetration, etc.)

 Suggested retail price
 Volume discounts and wholesale pricing
 Cash and early payment discounts
 Price flexibility
 Price discrimination

Chameleon shoes pricing is designed to be competitive to the other fashion shoe retailers. Pricing
decisions should take into account profit margins and the probable pricing response of
competitors. Chameleon shoes pricing strategy makes use of vertical integration in pricing
wherein they own participants at differing channel levels or take part in more than one channel
level operations. This can control costs and influence product pricing.
19
CHAMELEON HEELS (A PROJECT OF PVT. LTD)

“Price of Chameleon Heels is just Rs.1499 which is very economical price. Everyone can buy it.
This price is also very low as compared to our competitors”

Placement(Distribution):

Some examples of distribution decisions include:

 Distribution Strategy
 Target Market
 Market coverage (inclusive, selective, or exclusive distribution)
 Warehousing
 Distribution centers
 Transportation

Place (or placement) decisions are those associated with channels of distribution that serve as
the means for getting the product to the target customers. Chameleon sells its product to
about 20,000 retail accounts in the Pakistan. Distribution is about getting the products to the

Promotion:
Promotion decisions are those related to communicating and selling to potential consumers.
Since these costs can be large in proportion to the product price, a break-even analysis should
be performed when making promotion decisions. It is useful to know the value of a customer in
order to determine whether additional customers are worth the cost of acquiring them.
Promotion is largely dependent on finding accessible store locations. It also avails of targeted
advertising in the newspaper and creating strategic alliances.

Part of Chameleon shoes marketing strategy will be based solely on location. Chameleon shoes
is located in a trendy mall that receives abundant walk-through traffic. This location will cost a
premium and will not be directly linked to the marketing budget as rent has been categorized
under general overhead. Another form of marketing to be described later in detail will be
advertising. The strategy of the marketing campaign is to increase the target customer's
awareness of Chameleon shoes.
Marketing communication decisions include:

 Promotional strategy:

Chameleon shoes is adopting the pull strategy because its product has the best features to
attract the features and is also attracting the customer through heavy advertisement.

 Advertising:

Chameleon shoes is use a lot of sources for advertisement e-g bill boards, newspaper,
media, leaflets etc. we are spending a heavy amount of our budget on advertising. We are
spending nearly Rs.10 Million on advertisement in a year. We are giving advertisements
of our products on different channels of TV in peak hours and also through newspaper.

Market Growth
The market for women's shoes is a strong, steady growing market. It is generally not affected by
economic downturns. Women seem to consume shoes regardless of the economic climate. In a
popular mini-series, a women's habit of buying shoes was described as a release when they are
feeling bad, a way to make them feel better, similar to eating chocolate. While this stereo type
might not be entirely accurate, women love their shoes and cannot seem to get enough.

INDUSTRY ENVIRONMENT

Mainly following factors can influence industry environment of the chameleon shoes.

Bargaining power of supplier
Rivalry among competitors
Substitutability

Threat of Rivalry Threat of

competitors subtitutes
entrants

Bargaining
power of
supplier

THREAT OF NEW ENTRANT (High)

28
CHAMELEON HEELS (A PROJECT OF PVT. LTD)

As for as threat of the new entrant in the market is concerned, it is the very high
because the shoe industry is in growth and there is more chance for new entrants. High
profit margin is also another reason for new entrants.

RIVALRY AMONG COMPETITORS (High)

There is a high rivalry among competitors in this industry because everyone is trying to
be the market leader and want to capture the market share.

Followings are the main competitors:-

Existing Shoe companies (local)

China made shoes

BARGAINING POWER OF CUSTOMER (Low)

Bargaining power of the customer is low because there are many small and medium size
shoe industries providing only simple type of shoe without any change.

BARGAINING POWER OF THE SUPPLIER (High)

Bargaining power of the supplier is high because we have to obtain different raw
material importing from different countries the reason is that we are providing vast
range of shoe so supplier can suppress the profitability rate.

SUBSTITUTABILITY (High)

If the end user does not like any change & innovation then substitutability for our
chameleon shoes is high because there are so many shoe companies are providing
simple shoe in the market.

29
CHAMELEON HEELS (A PROJECT OF PVT. LTD)

Pest Analysis:

POLITICAL FORCES (High)

Legal & political forces are much important for each & every industry. So such forces can
highly influence any company. They may be favorable for the company but mostly
political forces are a threat for the existence of any company. We are providing the shoe
in market and decide to import raw material from china or any other foreign countries
so we have to face legal problems.

TECHNOLOGICAL FORCES (Medium)

Technology plays a major role in operational activities of every type business; it induces
for quality using modern plants through change of technology. We have to adopt
changes in our plants according to new technology so the threat from technologic forces
is medium for our firm.

SOCIAL FORCES (High)

30
CHAMELEON HEELS (A PROJECT OF PVT. LTD)

Social forces of any country show how the values, needs and culture of that country’s
people can affect the businesses. In case of multinational companies, the social forces
are high because they are providing high quality item at reasonable price and creating
sense of ownership in the valued customers.

Our firm works according to its strategy to give preference to its customers through
social services, concepts of informal organizations and providing various and
environmental facilities.

ECONOMIC FORCES (Medium)

Economic forces of any country can affect the availability, production and distribution of
resources among competing users. So economic factors play a mediocre role in shoe
industry.

Key to Success
The key to success is to meet the demand for an upscale women's shoe store with a wide
selection and focused customer attention.
•Fashionable designs.
•Fast customer delivery.
•Well-trained employees.
• S e l e c t i o n
