GENERAL FORMAT GUIDELINES

a. Margins: Top, right and bottom margins: 1”; left margin: 1.5”
b. Font Style: Arial; Font Size: 12
c. Do not write the page number on the title page and on the first page of every
chapter.
d. Acknowledgements and Dedication pages: Double-spaced and preferably one
page
e. The report is generally double spaced with no extra space in between
paragraphs.
f. The page number is placed at the upper right hand corner within 1” margin.
g. The chapter number should be in Roman Numeral form
h. For Figures
1. Only figures, which are not required, but are placed in the document to
support comprehension, should be seen in the List of Figures.
2. The figure number and title are placed below the figure.
3. Figure numbers should be continuous throughout the document.
4. Figures, which form part of the table of contents, need not be labelled.
i. For Tables
1. Only Tables, which are not required, but are placed in the document to
support comprehension, should be seen in the List of Tables.
2. The table number and title are placed above the table.
3. Table numbers should be continuous throughout the document.
4. Tables, which form part of the table of contents need not be labelled.
