TECHNICAL GUIDELINES FOR INTEGRATION PAPER/THESIS PROPOSALS

A. General Guidelines
1. An Integration, thesis or dissertation shall be submitted on white letter-size, copy or
book paper (8.5 x 11 inches)
2. Observe formal grammar rules. Do not use casual language such as contractions (e.g.,
don’t)
3. Use Times New Roman font, size 12.
4. Margins:
(i) Left – 1 ½ inches Right – 1 inch
(ii) Top – 1 inch* Bottom – 1 inch
* For the first page of each chapter, the top margin is 2 inches
B. The Order of Content
Please refer to a separate guideline.
C. Pagination:
1. For the preliminary pages (title, approval pages, abstract/executive summary,
acknowledgements, table of contents, list of figures, list of tables), page numbers are written in
lower case Roman numerals, on the upper right hand corner, 1 inch from the edge of the paper.

E. Chapter Numbers and Chapter Titles:


1. Chapters and Titles should all be written in UPPERCASE LETTERS, in bold font, and
centered.
2. Chapter numbers are written in UPPERCASE ROMAN NUMERAL
3. There should be a double space between chapter number and chapter title
4. The major heading or, if none, the text, begins 3 single spaces after the chapter title
(i.e., two blank lines in between the chapter title and the text).
F. Sections and subsections of the Body of the Paper:
1. Double space from the last line of the sentence of the previous subsection to the
next.
2. Double space from the sub section title to the first sentence of the paragraph

K. Figures or Illustrations
a. Figures/illustrations shall be numbered according to the Chapter where it is located and
the order which it is presented.

L. Crediting Sources and References
Refer to the Manual of the APA, Seventh Edition.
M. Appendices
a. Appendices are attached after the References. Put appendices that you refer to in the
text of your paper.
b. When referring to an appendix within the text, do not capitalize the word appendix.
