In the Buzzfeed article, “I Found a Home in Clubs Like Pulse in Cities like Orlando”, by

Rigoberto Gonzalez tells us that no place is entirely safe from hatred, violence and prejudice,

except the in clubs in like Pulse in Orlando where the author feels haven.

Gonzalez, a gay Latino, grew up in a traditional family were music and parties were

everything to them, bringing relatives and friends together sharing memories, drinking, dancing

and eating. His Mexican family taught him to dance to get through loneliness and problems and

for that, clubs in Orlando such as Pulse is his sanctuary.

Gonzalez connected with the club, mentioning that the DJ was one of us. Also referred,

that music like cumbia, merengue, bachata brought back memories from back home.

This article, show that with all the problems we have from being hated, judged, and

degraded there’s always that one place where you can go and be yourself and leave the hatred

fear behind.
