Specialization

institutions in India and abroad

• Ex-SSC Officers (after leaving the forces) are


given opportunity to join PG courses or super-
speciality courses in service institutions for up
to three years without additional bond liability

• All medical cadets execute a bond for Service


Liability which is to cover the free cost of

• After completion of MBBS the cadets are
commissioned in the Army, Navy & Air Force as
Medical Officer-CLASS I Gazetted Officers
• Two types of commission is granted:
• Permanent Commission
• Short Service Commission

extendable upto maximum 14 years

SSC to PC
• Selection of SSC officers for grant of PC is decided by a
Selection Board with interviews in the office of DGAFMS

• The grant of Departmental Permanent Commission will


be subject to availability of vacancies

granted Permanent Commission are given below

• Lt Col 11 years of service
• Col By Selection (20 to 22 yrs of service)
