Comments:
It was a pleasure to help co-supervise Student A this semester. As a graduate intern, I did not have the interactions a staff member
would have, but with the events I volunteered at Student A was ready to go with a smile. They are an extremely hard worker and
volunteers at any opportunity that arises and goes above and beyond. I saw them speak on behalf of FYE and it made me want to
work with a peer mentor even though I am a graduate student. They is always at team meetings ready to collaborate, listen, and
share. They do a great job making their meetings as well as updating their paperwork. The students have given their overwhelmingly
positive reviews including comments from their AIS professor wanting their as their peer mentor again for the coming semester.
Overall, Student A has done an exemplary job as a peer mentor and have had the extreme pleasure of working with them this
semester!

It was a pleasure supervising Student A once again this semester. Student A consistently provides support to the FYE Office through
programming and volunteering to assist with projects. Additionally, both Student A’s mentees and professor had tremendous
feedback in regards to their performance – as their professor personally requested them for his section in the fall semester. Overall, I
thought Student A grew in their leadership as they spoke up more in team meetings and helped lead a team meeting this semester,
but I encourage their to continue to grow in assuming more and more leadership responsibilities. Student A has a great skillset and
strong intrinsic motivation towards achieving their goals, so I want them to be intentional in how being an FYE Peer Mentor can
assist in their development. Overall, it’s been a joy working with them again this semester.

Comments:
What an experience working with Student B! I thoroughly enjoyed not only meeting and working with Student B this semester, but I
had the pleasure of sitting with them for their mid-point evaluation and listening to all of the wonderful things they is doing for their
mentees. They goes above and beyond for the students by creating for them a syllabus, giving the m “grades” based on their
attendance to the meetings and providing incentives such as $5 Amazon gift cards. After speaking with Student B, you can tell they
has a keen eye for organization and care for their students. Student B does a fantastic job of updating their hours and their excel
sheet noting when their students did not schedule a meeting with their or which student had missed their meeting. Student B shared
their concerns about not being able to get to all of their students but they has met with a majority of their students nonetheless. They
is always contributing strong ideas to the team meeting including sharing resources with their peers and teaching them new things.
For volunteering, Student B is always volunteering, showing up, and staying until everyone is gone. Student B was a great student to
work with as a graduate intern! I would recommend Student B for any peer mentoring experience or career they chooses to attain.

Student B is the epitome of a dedicated peer mentor. They is extremely intentional in their curriculum development for mentee
meetings, the incentives they provides, and the support and execution of assisting their students. They prepares for each day and
each meeting, as well as they possesses tremendous time management skills which allow them excel in all their responsibilities and
engagements. Student B has great creativity and provides support and assistance to peer mentors inside and outside of team
meetings and is very much a natural leader within the program. While they has a very strong skillset and leadership qualities, I have
noticed an increased understanding for different students, and I encourage them to continue to look for areas where the FYE
Program can help them grow as a future professional. Overall, it has been an absolute pleasure working with Student B again this
semester.

Comments:
I had the pleasure of co-supervising Student C! I personally would have liked to see more from Student C in terms of team meetings
and volunteering opportunities. According to excel sheet and their comments on WC Online, they is doing a fantastic job and their
students think the world for their. They does not contribute as much as I know they can, but when they has contributed, they adds
very substantive contributions. Their attendance in team meetings has been great! They was great at attending and creating events
of their and their mentees. I would have liked to see an event for their Resume and also a UTSA event. I know they can do it! I also
would like to see them more involved in the office and at events. This can help with growing their leadership! Their 3rd meetings could
have been better when it comes to attendance numbers. I understand the 3 rd meetings get difficult, but I know Student C could have
gotten more since their feedback was positively glowing! Their feedback from the surveys are very positive so I know they is doing
their job as a peer mentor! Overall, Student C is a pleasure to work with and I can’t wait to hear about their continued growth!

It seemed like Student C did well in connecting to their mentees, however there was a drop-off for their 3rd meetings. While there may
have been more growth in being persistent to get them in each time, they did receive raving comments from those they met and
connected with. Student C possesses very good time management as they meets expectations in each area of their role, but I would
encourage them to continue to increase their involvement with the program. Having over a year under their belt, I would love to see
their sign-up for more and more opportunities. Being more involved will help their in their personal and leadership growth, as well as
it can provide more opportunities for peer mentors and staff to get to know them. Overall, Student C had a solid semester with peer
mentoring – but I know they still has the ability to take it up a notch.

Comments:
Student D is a fantastic peer mentor! I had the greatest experience with Student D as a peer mentor. They has gone beyond their
primary roles as peer mentors and they has glowing reviews from their mentees. One thing we discussed in our midpoint evaluation
was advice for them to increase their mentee attendance numbers. I explained to them that incentivizing their meetings without
going to deep into their budget to ensure student attendance increases. They is always speaking up in team meetings and offering
fantastic advice for their peers. They has volunteered for multiple events where they show out and represents First Year Experience.
They is always willing to help out and with a smile each time. They has received amazing reviews from their students and they has
clearly made an impact on their students. They is always on time with their timesheets and their excel sheet is always updated with
succinct information and it is very easy to understand. They is very efficient and does their best in their greeter position as well. They
is an amazing addition to FYE and encourage others who have not worked with them to collaborate with their just to experience their
work ethic. I had the extreme pleasure working with Student D this semester!

Once again it was an absolute pleasure supervising Student D again. They picked up right where they left off last semester in going
above and beyond in their role. They makes tremendous connections with their mentees, as well as leaves great impressions on
different staff within the FYE office. Between their communication, dedication, and time management – Student D excels in each
aspect of their role. As a student leader, one area that I particularly want to commend Student D on, is their ability to listen as much
as they speaks. They possesses great questions and responses, but also does well in allowing others to speak. Student D has been a
terrific asset to the program and FYE appreciates all of the time and efforts they has provided!

Comments:
Working with Student E this semester was fantastic! They have great ideas to share in team meetings and works hard with their
mentees while juggling a difficult class load. One thing that really stood out to me with Student E is that they mentioned that they
never used a planner with their time management concerns, and after our midpoint conversation they told me that they was getting
a planner. To this day, they is using their planner more avidly than before and they said it has really helped their out. They has
potential to be a strong peer mentor, and I think they can accomplish this by attending more FYE events as a volunteer and helping
out around the office. They has received glowing reviews from the surveys as well as WC Online. They all mention how much they has
helped including helping a CAP student transition with ease after being afraid of transferring. They takes feedback well and is willing
to work hard for their mentees. They has shown up to every team meeting and I think they can definitely speak up a little bit more in
team meetings to be able to share their ideas. I can see their being a great volunteer and helping out FYE when necessary if they
decides to take initiative on that end. Overall, Student E was a great peer mentor to work with as a graduate intern.

One things in particular that stood out with Student E, is how they grew and developed from last semester. Student E did really well
with their mentees once again, but I noticed an increase in confidence and involvement with them this semester. I enjoyed seeing
Student E engage more in team meetings, as well as volunteer for different areas of FYE support. While there is still more room to
grow, I think it’s been a great step in the right direction towards being a leader within the program, and want to continue t o push
their in this area. I thought Student E did a better job managing their time this semester as well, because although there were times
where Student E had a lot going on, I never felt like it conflicted with their peer mentor performance. For future semesters, I
encourage them to always feel comfortable connecting with their supervisor if they is ever feeling overwhelmed. It was a pleasure
supervising Student E again, and I believe they is on their way to achieving their potential as a student leader within our program.

Comments:
I thought Student F did primarily well in their second semester as a peer mentor. I could tell they felt more comfortable in their role,
and was always more than willing to assist the FYE Office whenever they could. As far as mentee engagement, I think there was some
room for improvement in getting students to meet. With that being said, Student F was always asking for advice on how to get their
meeting numbers up – so I would challenge them to connect with other peer mentors to share strategies and ideas to get students to
meet. Particularly for UPM, I encourage them to start off fast, and then continue re-occurring emails and messaging throughout the
semester to help provide structure to the mentees. Additionally, while they received positive reviews from their students, I would
have loved to see more comments. This semester Student F did a great job communicating with me as their supervisor, and displayed
leadership in their willingness to help out. From assisting with interviews, to covering the front desk, to UTSA Day and other
commitments – Student F was always looking for different ways to support the FYE Staff. For the most part Student F possessed good
time management, however I encourage them to push for consistency in future semesters – both with their mentees and with
themselves. It was a pleasure seeing Student F grow in different areas from last semester, and I look forward to seeing their reach
their potential within the peer mentor role.

I enjoyed working with Student F this semester! They definitely showed me that they has the potential to be an even greater peer
mentor. In team meetings, they participated consistently in team meetings and provided great ideas and insight. They is always
helping out when they can at the FYE Office and would like to see their more involved through volunteering! Some improvement for
Student F would be to update their excel sheet consistently so when we go and check we can see that they are fulfilling their role as a
mentor. Something else to improve on is updating their professional development and their events that they attended and created. I
know they went to different events from what the peer mentors have said and it would be great to see what they accomplished this
semester. Finally, Student F could increase their time management skills by making sure they attends their mentee meetings on time.
That was some feedback from their students. Overall, I had a great time supervising Student F as a co-supervisor. They always
brought a positive air into team meetings and the FYE office with a bright smile! They is always smiling even if they is sick or
exhausted and it shows their determination to FYE and I truly appreciated Student F this semester. Thank you Student F!
