2. Objectives:
1. Children will list three or more of the most interesting facts about an Octopus they
learned
2. Children will share with peers what they found most interesting
4. Teaching:
A. Reading the book
B. Extension activity: After reading the book discuss with children what they found
most interesting about the octopus. Let children know you will like them discuss what were the
three facts they found most interesting in groups of four. After children discuss let them know to
create a flyer/ poster of what makes an Octopus amazing. Allow children who do not write to
make a pictorial poster along with stickers provided.
5. Closure: Once children have completed their poster ask if anyone would like to share their
poster. If no one wants to share, share the three facts you found most interesting and allow the
children to expand on your facts.
