CURRICULUM AND MATERIALS DEVELOPMENT (CMD) MIDTERM TEST

SEMESTER 108, ACADEMIC YEAR 2018

INSTRUCTION:

Develop an English course syllabus for: a) Tour guides in Raja Ampat Papua or
Geopark Ciletuh, Sukabumi; b) Nurses who will work abroad/Middle East; c) Hotel
Reciptionist (choose one only). The duration of the course is for 3 credits. You
should develop a comprehensive syllabus with the following criteria:
1. Choose one of the syllabus/curriculum model designs recommended for this
course (Graves’ model of curriculum design, Brown’s syllabus/curriculum
designs, or Nation’s & Macalister’s model) to develop the syllabus and
elaborate the reasons for choosing the model.
2. Explain and discuss specifically what and how the parts/components, the
steps and procedures of the model design you’ve chosen work in developing
the course syllabus. You also need to elaborate what instrument or tools you
use and how they are developed.
3. You should submit this task in the form of discussion paper and you also
need to attach the sample of the prototype syllabus (not a complete one) you
have designed.

 You should use the references recommended in this course and other
relevant sources in discussing, elaborating and making conclusion as well as
providing suggestion for this task.
 You should use APA style in documenting and citing the sources and also the
format.
 You should submit the paper by Monday, 14 May 2018, in printing.
