Week Eight – Filming

FILMING

What practical work have you done This week I completed my last interview and finished editing my
this week - and how helpful was your rough draft. My earlier planning was helpful as it allowed me to
earlier planning? complete this final interview effectively as I knew what questions
to ask and what I wanted it to look like.

How will this be useful to you as your I am filming and editing this week so that when I receive

What issues did you encounter whilst
out filming and how did you
overcome them?
There were no issues whilst filming, however when I came to edit,
I noticed that one of the interviews had an uneven camera
angle, and there was also a big difference in colour on the two
frames.
Therefore, when I came to the editing process, I altered the
colouring and rotated the camera angle to fix this issue. The
only other problem I had was I didn’t have a microphone when
filming one of the interviews, however this does not sound so
obvious in the production.

How suitable do you feel your My locations were very suitable as two of the interviews were in
locations were for your filming? a music recording room which is appropriate and relevant, and
then another interview was in a room with a piano in the
background which has strong connotations of music.
How have you made use of the
technical skills you have developed so
far this year?
I have made use of my technical skills by showing them in my
filming and my editing, my filming shows that I know how to do
interview set ups, and my editing shows that I know how to use
different effects, transitions, how to switch between camera
angles, and how to use title cards.

Having reviewed your footage, are I am happy with what I have shot so far and edited, I may re
you happy with what you have shoot my beginning piece and instead of a voiceover have a
captured and does anything need piece to camera however I am undecided on this option at the
reshooting? moment.
