About the Instructor

Sandy Haydon, is a certified project manager in software development and a
project management instructor. She is an associate of Fissure Corp (a project
management training company) and actively supports the MN PMI chapter.

Sandy has 40 years of experience with IBM (Rochester) in operating system

development projects and working with companies providing software for
IBM systems. During her time at IBM, she held many positions as a software
developer, a manager, and a project manager. In her 10 years as a project
manager, she was responsible for leading project teams with members located
around the world.

As an active member of the MN PMI chapter, Sandy recently led a team of

project management instructors to successfully update the chapter’s course
materials to reflect the new PMBOK Guide, Fifth Edition. This project
experienced many of the typical project challenges, including a very short
schedule with a hard end date, limited budget, both known and unknown risks
occurring, and a team of volunteers.

Sandy holds a BA in Mathematics and a MA in Management, became a

certified Project Management Professional (PMP) in 1998, and an IBM Senior
Certified Project Manager in 2004.
