To Whom It May Concern:

It is an absolute pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Joshua Bratager. As his PEPI Teacher
and Head Varsity Soccer Coach at Heritage High School, I have watched this young man develop both
academically, socially, and personally into a mature individual who has demonstrated the highest
expectations desired of a true “high achiever”.

Josh is extremely intelligent, energetic, compassionate and genuinely very well rounded. His grades have
been outstanding in all of his courses while contributing to a demanding and vigorous High School and
Elite Club soccer schedule. Maintaining an outstanding GPA while regularly challenging himself with
rigorous classes shows the willingness to achieve at a high level off of the field. While competing at
soccer, he has developed into that “special type” of soccer player that coaches desire. His athletic ability
is matched only by his willingness to be a leader on and off the field. He has consistently demonstrated
the infectious positive character traits that continually raise the expectations for his classmates and
teammates. His membership and participation in the Physical Education Pupil Instruction (PEPI) and as a
selfless volunteer coach/mentor within our Special Needs/Adapted PE Program demonstrate his
willingness to lead, mentor, and succeed outside off of the athletic arena. He is a tireless worker and
leader within our class and the surrounding community. Josh possesses all the ingredients of a successful
young man, especially the ability to inspire. He understands the sacrifices needed to accomplish goals.

Josh consistently exemplifies those qualities that not only demonstrate his high level of play, but also
reinforces the value of being a very unselfish leader in the classroom. Josh is a leader in every sense of
the word. Unlike many young men or women who are not sure which path to pursue in life, Josh has
made clear to me that him goal is to continue to achieve at high level academically and athletically in
college. I am very proud of him.

Past and current performances, I feel, are often an honest indicator of future potential. It is obvious to me
as I hope it is to you that this young man, Joshua Bratager, is an exceptional young man. I wholeheartedly
recommend him and wish him the very best in all future goals.

Yours in Education,

Scott Sloan
