Physical Education and Adaptive Physical Education Teacher Search Committee Chair

Dear Search Committee,

Please accept this letter as an expression of my interest for the position as an Adaptive PE and
Physical Education Teacher within your district. I learned of this job opportunity through the
website, Olasjobs.org.

My name is Joseph Lanza, I choose to apply to your district for Physical Education (and
Adaptive PE) because of your programs mission on your website and the reputation your have.
Both your mission and reputation reflect and relate to my beliefs regarding education which
made your district a place of interest of mine when applying for positions. Here is a brief
description of how I might contribute to your school district and community.

Lifelong learning, physical health, and learning by doing are all vital concepts to my teaching
philosophy. I am passionate about Physical Education and Adaptive PE and often find myself
expressing this passion when I am out in the field either teaching, or coaching. During
instruction I encourage age-appropriate skill-based development as well as problem-solving
skills with my students in a positive Physical Education environment. It is my responsibility to
enforce and reinforce the primary goals of Physical Education, health, and fitness to ensure my
students become physically, mentally, socially, and emotionally literate individuals when they
leave my class.

I am a highly motivated and interested in working as a Physical Education (or Adaptive PE)
teacher in your district. I believe that my experiences I have had throughout my undergraduate
degree in K-12 Physical Education, and in Adaptive PE, and experiences I have had as a camp
worker and counselor has prepared me to fulfill all responsibilities in the areas of teaching
Physical Education and Adaptive Physical Education and serving your schools students
successfully. The thought of possibly being an educator at your district and having an impact on
your students excites and humbles me.
