The document compares disasters that occurred in the Philippines in the 1970s-1980s and recently from 2010-2013. It notes the dates, names and number of deaths from typhoons and earthquakes. The strongest typhoon was Yolanda in 2013 which caused over 6,000 deaths, while the strongest earthquake was the 1976 Moro Gulf quake that resulted in 8,000 deaths. In conclusion, the Philippines is prone to natural disasters due to its location, but Filipinos remain resilient in the face of adversity.

The Philippines’ Disasters
From the tables shown above, I can conclude that Philippines is prone to disasters as it is located in the Ring of Fire. What I observed is, if the intensity of an earthquake is higher and if the Typhoon is more stronger then it is expected that there would be more casualties. But for some instances, if a disaster is expected to come and people have enough knowledge of what could happen then the damage of that disaster is lesser. The strongest typhoon that Philippines ever experienced was the infamous Typhoon Yolanda and the strongest earthquake was the Moro Gulf Earthquake. But these disasters doesn’t destroyed the faith of the Filipino people. I can say that Filipinos are very resilient and strong. Even though a lot of things are happening,we believe that God is always on our side,no matter what.
