Rounded Average: 5/6

3 I don’t feel I can provide any suggestions due to not being in the RE teaching team
continue to work with enabling students to see and make meaningful links
4 is there scope for more retreats each year- have noticed a higher level of appreciation after
having been involved in the retreat
3 I don't feel qualified to comment.
5 Feedback from students and parents.
5 the content needs to be tested for its worth
4 More planning time to achieve aims, collaborative approach amongst RE teachers
5 Continue with your current progress it is coming along well.
Keep talking to staff and keep them informed. It is important to make real and sustained
4
improvement and not just go through the process.
5 None at this stage, see how the students respond and their feedback.
5 Being new to the school it is an area that I personally need more exposure to the strategies.
4 I really don't have anything helpful to suggest.
6 Becoming a dialogue school
6 No suggestion at this time.
5 More time is required to develop our understanding and resources further
6 None
Inter-faith dialogue
5 linking RE content with lived and living experience - i.e. Gospel values in social justice projects
involve many different voices in the journey - teachers other than RE.
More time to continue to work on curriculum.
5
Not sure I'm overly qualified to give too much input in this area.
6 implementation of alternative RE programs in senior years of school
Only by trailing and implementing this in practice will we be able to know more and gauge
5
future direction.
Continue to try to make this area as engaging and relevant to the young people it is being
5
delivered to as possible.
6 None
More work needs to be done on enriching units.
5 Deeper incorporation of ecological theology.
More work done in developing a deeper understanding of human Jesus
More interaction with other subjects in regard to relating many things to our beliefs
5
(entrusting students to explore truth in its various ways).
4 None at this stage
Continue with retreats, masses in year levels, encouraging prayers in TA times and reflection
6
days.
To continue to look for opportunities to make the Gospel real through experiences we can
4
offer at Damascus
A review of assessment data, even a sample interview with students at each level would be
5
interesting
4 .
Continue to gather feedback from staff, students and parents. Reflection is a key proponent
5 for success in curriculum development. This reflection is key in enhancing the curriculum so
that it continues to resonate with students.

5 Teach RE in such a way that the students are engaged and wanting to be there.
5 Keep continuing the great work particularly in the classroom.
4 Continue with a modern and relevant approach.
3 Teaching has to be relate to student experience.
5 I would like to see matrices on all assessment tasks and all year levels.
I like the organisation of the RE curriculum scope and sequence.
5 It will be interesting to see how the rest of the College might be able to appropriate some
elements that could fit into the 7-10 core or elective subject areas if they compliment.
Ensuring resources and teaching are accessible for all students regardless of their religious
4
background or not. Making sure the language and content is understandable.
How other teachers could help compliment the RE curriculum in other subject areas eg.
5
ethics, values
Continue to engage the general teaching group in the work yet to be completed in developing
rubrics and assessment tasks. And openly celebrate the achievement of milestones, to help
6 shine the light on the good work the team are achieving.
Additionally, perhaps look into engaging pre-service grads in particular aspects of the 'project
work', to assist in establishing resources.
I'm not sure, but I think Religious Education needs to be made as relevant as possible to
4 today's kids' lives. I'm sure a lot of the content already is, but more work is needed here I
think.
5 No suggestions.
The RE team are doing a fantastic job. Keeping them in their teams is very important to
6
growing the curriculum.
+ Create opportunities for dialogue within the classroom about important religious and social
justice themes
5
+ Awareness of social justice issues from a world view compared to a local view.
+ Simple Bible based stories and principles can be inspiring.
I would like to see an opportunity for students to meet, as staff do for reflection and scripture
6
reading. Whether students are invited to staff sessions or these run independently.
Suggestion: Focussing on the types of a limited number of organisations and the type of work
they do. eg Caritas and St Vincent de Paul. This should be linked with the Gospels and our
school motto. This might be done in TA time.
5
Question: How are students who are not able to or have not reached the post-critical belief
stage encouraged or guided? Are they identified by teachers?
4 More education for staff who don't teach RE
5 n/a
4 as above
At Damascus I would like to see continued development of local strategies to support the
6
vulnerable
4 .
Explore religious themes and contexts through more contemporary platforms e.g technology
5
and social media
5 Maybe some more relevance to the issues relevant to the lives of students.
Board Subcommittee
I think it would be helpful to include the PLS strand at some stage in Yr 8 to maintain a
consistent flow of the strands through the four years.
5 Hope that Awakenings builds upon and develops teacher's ability to explore and make for
very relevant student learning...
...tightening of enrolment policy to ensure that students who have the most of offer to
Catholic Education are offered that position
5 Board Subcommittee 2
Ensuring that RE staff, indeed all staff, have the opportunity to engage in meaningful and
regular faith enriching experiences and professional development will help build a shared
culture … That is tangible for students.
…include all students in the growth and appreciation of lived ethical / Christian experience
alongside other faiths
