WEEKLY JOURNALS

This is where you think about your FMP learning journey and development.
Don’t simply describe what you did - consider what you have learnt and how this has benefitted
your project. What do you need to improve?

THIS IS JUST GUIDANCE THAT YOU NEED TO ADAPT TO YOUR OWN PROJECT. YOU HAVE CREATED YOUR
OWN PRODUCTION SCHEDULES AND YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS SHOULD REFELCT THAT.

THESE QUESTIONS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED IN THE WEEKS YOU COMPLETED THEM. DO NOT JUST SUBMIT THIS
FORM FILLED IN FOR YOUR WEEKLY BLOGS. THERE SHOULD BE 11 WEEKLY BLOG ENTRIES (INCLUDING
EASTER).

Week Five - Planning

PLANNING

What did you learn from your planning I learnt about the process of gathering equipment. Having
this week? doing my props list, I swiftly went to book equipment, but sadly I
t was all taken. I learned about the importance of booking
early, I wanted to book c-stands and stabilizers, but only got
away with a microphone. I guess its first come first serve, but
with the complications of work piling up on me, I guess I never
got time to complete it. The Microphone I doubt won’t even be
used in my final production, but it was an experience none the
less, next time I’ll have to book it quicker.

What issues did you encounter and I didn’t really overcome the equipment issue, I just had to sit
how did you overcome them? back and wait next time for the equipment to be available
quicker.

One other problem I faced was actors again, people kept

backing out and changing times, it was getting stressful and I
couldn’t get them to agree on a specific time. Luckily a
window opened where they were available for a certain time, I
took it as fast as I could and it was scheduled to go. It was
quite a race and I’m glad that I actually got it working.

How did you ensure that your location Since I am planning on filming at my house, I knew the ins and
recces were completed to a high out of the power information and the landscape around it.
standard? Having all this information, the authenticity and credibility of my
location recess were spot on.

We also are filming outside of my house. Having access to the

outside areas as well was important because I do know all the
hazards and information about the local area.

We also plan on filming at Paris’s house, and since Paris is also a

media student so he could help me with the recce for his
house.

How did you ensure that your props list Since all we needed were some guns and a multi tool, the
and crew list were completed to a props list was easy to put together, with all these props at hand,
high standard? with easy access, they’d be easy to bring to locations. So the
props list was very simple and efficient. I also had to include the
small things, such as the toothpick that Roberto will have in his
mouth, things such as sunglasses and laptops might be
needed.

How have you ensured your My productions schedule does include a lot of detail I have
production schedule includes enough included what I shall be doing that day, and also what I will be
detail? doing at home to stay on track, I also include when I will be
filing and editing weekly vlogs.

I also have included a large gap for Easter holiday, and have
stated that I shall need to complete anything that has been left
out. I really feel like I think ahead with things like these, and
organise my weeks thoughtfully.

How well have you managed and As stated previous it was quite a pain organising my cast, I got
organised your cast and crew to be in their approval, yes. But I didn’t get enough time to actually
available when you need them? organise them, it was quite hectic and I am so glad that I
actually managed to get things done.

Are you on track for the week? If not, I have somethings I need to catch up on, yes. I need to finalise
how far behind are you? some location recces and also fill out my crew list.

What work do you need to complete These are small tasks I can do them at home
outside of lessons to stay on track?
