C BOP
The Cameron C BOP was designed as an emergency safety head for
snubbing coiled tubing workover applications. The main function of the C BOP
is to shear whatever is in the hole – from braided cable to perforating guns –
and form a safe, pressure-tight seal. Features of the C BOP include:
• C BOPs are compact
• Visual position indicators clearly show the lock and unlock status, as well as
the ram position
• Bonnet contains an auxiliary connecting rod seal for back-up in emergency
situations
• BOP can be installed in different orientations through the use of duplicate
plumbing ports
• Ram changeout is simple because of the elongated top bonnet stud
• Provides maximum shearing capacity to ensure reliable shearing and sealing
with a maximum closing pressure of 2800 psi achieved with a 15" diameter
operating piston coupled with DSI Shear Rams
• DSI Shear Rams shear and seal wireline, braided cable, perforating guns,
gravel pack screen assemblies, etc.
• Rams are mounted on removable buttons that may be easily changed out if
required
• Close and Lock functions are independent, allowing shearing without
automatically locking
• Rams are automatically unlocked prior to opening through the use of a
sequence valve
• Available in 7" and 11" 10,000 and 15,000 psi WP models
• Meets all applicable API, DNV, NORSK and HSE specifications

Dual String Interlocking (DSI) Rams

DSI rams were developed to shear multiple tubing strings regardless of their
orientation to the centerline of the ram bore. They are spring-loaded and
interlocked to prevent vertical separation between the upper and lower blades.
This feature also provides the capability to maintain a seal and shear wireline
and braided cable with zero tension in the line. The efficient shear blade
geometry on both upper and lower rams reduces the required shearing force.
The tool steel inlayed cutting edges include a secondary cutting edge, which
cuts and wipes away any cable strands or shrapnel, which may have survived
the initial shear edges. Clearance below the shear blades is maximized to allow
the fish to collect when shearing large assemblies. SD-25385

S/QRC and G-2 Snubbing BOPs
The Cameron S/QRC and G-2 snubbing blowout preventers are used in well
workover and servicing operations. S/QRCs are ram-type preventers which
maintain pressure control for all types of workover wells. The Cameron G-2 BOP
is suitable for wells requiring a 4-1/16" 5000 or 10,000 psi or 7-1/16" 5000 psi
snubbing preventer.
S/QRC and G-2 BOP Rams
Cameron S/QRC and G-2 snubbing BOPs can be equipped with the proper
rams to perform a full range of snubbing preventer operations.
Four types of ram bodies are available for the 4-1/16" 10,000, 15,000 and
25,000 psi S/QRC and 4-1/16" 5000 and 10,000 psi G-2 BOPs. These include
blind, pipe, shear and wireline rams. Pipe rams can be fitted with safety packers,
wear insert packers or slip inserts. Blind and pipe rams are available for all
sizes. Features include:
• Safety packers seal around tubing in the well bore. Tubing can be stripped or
snubbed through these packers, if necessary.
• Wear insert packers are for stripping and snubbing service. These
subassemblies have a wear insert which can be easily replaced to renew the
packer.
• Slip inserts are used to hold the tubing string after shearing or during
workover operations by supporting upward and downward forces as well as
torsional forces.
• Wireline ram guides have hardened steel guiding surfaces and are
replaceable.
• No special operating system is required for shearing.
• All S/QRC and G-2 rams are suited for H2S service per NACE MR-01-75.
