Safe Shutdown Hydrogen Plant

Steps:

1. Rectifier shutdown (1)

while compressor running Reducing the rectifier current by reducing (ref current) from HMI
from 4500A to 3500A wait (5-10) minutes Then reducing the ref current from 3500 to 2000 And
wait (5-10) minutes

Then reducing the ref current from 2000 to 500 and wait (5-10) minutes

Then reducing the ref current from 500 to 0, the ref voltage from 28 to 0 and wait till the actual
current reaches to 0 then press stop rectifier

2. Venting the cell skid 0l (2)

Wait until the compressor is stopped when the gas holder limit switch reaches low level then
pressed Emergency Stop

Venting done after compressor shutdown by opening the manual vent valve 00QJA04AA903 and
closing the another manual valve 03QJA04AA904

3. Compressor (3) and dryer and venting

Then stop the dryer from HMI by pressing stop button And the enclosure exhaust fan

Venting the discharge of compressor by open manual vent 00QJA04AA701 when the pressure
was drop to 0 close discharge valve00QJA04AA015

Dropping the oil pressure by opening valve on pressure indicator after pressure drop close it
again

Close the hydrogen bottles supply valve and hydrogen rack header valve and Open the
manual vent valve in outside header

4. Cooling tower shutdown (5)

cooler) then closing inlet of Demi water and pneumatic air supply and closing chiller pump and
compressor press off switch then switch off MCB (gas holder cooler)

shutdown cooling tower From HMI

Stop the sump pump and cooling tower pump and fan by pressing stop for each one on HMI
Then switch off rectifier breaker form its panel then its breaker in distribution panel then the
feeder breaker (Main CB)

-You can close cooling inlet valve to avoid air bubbles-

Now all systems were shutdown and vented
