Radio Remote Control Motor Programming Instructions

Radio Remote Control Motor is motor that is controlled by a remote or 3rd party UIs
(such as Dynalite Keypads, LCDs etc.). When one buys radio remote control motor, it is not
programmed for the upper and lower limitations; therefore he has to program it according to his
own conditions. This motor can be controlled by Telis Transmitter. Telis transmitters are
available in different channels for example single channel or four channel. Multi channel telis
transmitters are used to control more than one motor. This document contains the single channel
telis transmitter programming instruction. Single channel Telis transmitter has only 3 buttons,
one for the UP, one for the DOWN and one for STOP (that is labeled as MY). Telis transmitters
also have a program button behind the remote that can be pressed using screwdriver. Single and
multi-channel Telis transmitters are shown below.

Single Channel Program Button Multi-Channel

General Operating Instructions:

 Place the RTS Motor in programming mode as described in programming instructions.

 Press the programming button on the back of the Telis transmitter to program it in the
memory of the RTS Motor.
 Pressing UP button will raise the window covering, while pressing DOWN button will
lower it. To stop the window covering, simply press the STOP (MY) button.
 In multi-channel Telis transmitter, by pressing the channel selector button on the
transmitter will switch between channels. The corresponding LED will light to indicate
the channel selected.

Radio Remote Control Motor Programming Instructions

Initial Programming Instructions:

1. Connect motor to the power. Select the transmitter/channel to which you plan to learn the
motor. Press and hold the UP and DOWN buttons at the same time until the motor moves
back and forth or up and down, then release both buttons.
2. Check if the motor runs in specified direction by pressing either UP or DOWN button on
the transmitter. This is an important step. If you did not do it then you will need to reset
the motor. Verify that motor moves upward by pressing the UP button and downward by
pressing the DOWN button. If it does not then you will have reverse the motor direction.
To reverse the direction press and hold the STOP (MY) button for 5 seconds until the
motor jogs (Moves back and forth or up and down). Check the direction again to make
sure that it works.
3. Move the motor to its upper limit position. Press the STOP and DOWN buttons at the
same time until the motor starts to move down, then release the buttons. You will stop the
motor at its lower limit. You can use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the motor to
the correct lower limit positions if need be.
4. Once the motor is at its lower limit position, then press the UP and STOP buttons at the
same time until the motor starts to move up, then release the buttons. The motor should
move to the upper limit position in step 3 and stop.
5. Once the motor has stopped at its upper limit position, then press and holds the STOP
button for 5 seconds until the motor jogs (Moves back and forth or up and down).
6. Now, you must put the motor into USER mode. Find the programming button which is a
small button on the back or side of the transmitter and press it until the motor jogs. Once
you have done this, then the motor will operate in normal fashion.
7. Disconnect power to this motor and move to the next in your installation and start with
step 1. Reconnect motor to power when all motors are programmed.

Reset Motor Instructions:

If the motor is not working or responding correctly and you want to reprogram it from the
beginning and clear all previous programming,
then follow these steps.

1. Disconnect the motor from power for 2-5 seconds, reconnect the power for 10-13
seconds, again disconnect from power for 2-5 seconds, and reconnect to the power. The
motor should move down a little after you reconnect to power last time.
2. Depress the programming button that is on the back of the transmitter for 10-15 seconds.
The motor should jog once then pause and jog a second time after pause during this time
period. Once the motor has completed its second jog, then you can start at step 1 of initial
programming as the motor is clear.

intermediate location.
4. If you want to delete the stop position, then go to the intermediate stop position and press
and hold the STOP button until the motor jogs. This will delete your save intermediate
position.

Add/Delete a Channel/Transmitter:
To add a channel/transmitter, you just need to follow these steps.
1. Select the channel/transmitter that is currently operating the motor, then press the
programming button until the motor jogs.
2. Select the new channel/transmitter that you want to add to the motor, then press the
programming button until the motor jogs.
3. The motor should now work on both the old and new channel/transmitter.

To delete a channel/transmitter, you just need to follow a couple of steps.

1. Select the channel/transmitter that is currently operating the motor and you want to keep,
then press and hold the programming button until the motor jogs.

RTC Dry Contact Interface Operating Instructions

The RTC Dry Contact Interface can be used to communicate between home automation
systems (such as Dynalite) or other third party systems and RTS Motors. This contact interface
creates a RF signal by picking up the input from keypad or touch screen. It contains 4 colored
wires (Red, Black, Green and White). A combination of two wires out of the four sends different
commands that can be read by the motor.
Installation Guide

Operating Instruction:

1. Place the RTS Motor in programming mode as described in the programming

instructions.
2. Press the programming button on the RTS interface to program it in the memory of the
RTS motor.
3. To activate UP command, a momentary contact (relay) closure is required between
WHITE and GREEN wires.
4. To activate DOWN command, a short circuit is required between BLACK and GREEN
wires.
5. To activate a STOP command or intermediate position, a contact closure is required
between RED and GREEN wires.
