1. The plastic index is calculated as the difference between its Liquid limit & Plastic Limit
2. In case of sandy soil PL should be determined first. When PL can not be determined.The PI should be reported as Non - Plastic (NP)
3. When the plastic limit is equal to or greater than thr liquid limit. The PI shall be reporte as zero
