Client Overview:
The client is a pioneer and market leader in water purification systems, vacuum cleaners &
air purifiers. The client’s 5000 strong sales force reaches 1.25 million homes and adds 1,500
customers per day.

Eureka Forbes Ltd. is Asia’s largest direct selling organization. Over 1000 business partners of
Eureka Forbes need to be integrated into the Eureka Forbes business systems like SAP ECC
5.0 and SAP CRM systems. They could not be given direct access to the ECC and CRM
systems since maintaining full time connectivity with the servers was not an option. Hence, it
was decided to build a custom offline-online solution based on SAP Mobile Infrastructure 2.5.

EFL MI solution – Phase 1 - The client’s channel partner operations needed to be integrated
with their ERP and CRM systems.

Solution:
A custom built application based on the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Infrastructure proposed
and subsequently developed. Each channel partner has an SAP Mobile Infrastructure client
installed on his/her personal computer. The custom built application allows the partner to
record the complaints, services performed, spares sold and maintenance contracts sold with
respect to a customer. It also allows the partner to receive goods, request for creation of new
customer master, issue/receive spares from service technicians and submit collection and
pay-slips to the client. A complete requirement analysis was done before designing and
ultimately implementing the solution. BAPI wrappers were built in the SAP ECC and SAP
CRM systems. Synchronous Business Objects were built in the MI system and the front end
was developed in JAVA.
The various business process covered in this custom built MI solution were Sales Order,
Complaint, Ibase, Service, AMC, Customer Management, Goods Movement and Cash
Collection. This included custom development in both backend systems like SAP ECC, SAP
CRM and also Java in the MI client.
