Good morning Wilshire Park Staff and Parents,

This morning, a construction worker entered Wilshire Park Elementary School without following
proper procedure. A staff member observed the person walking down the hallway toward the
boiler room. The police were contacted immediately and a lockdown was initiated.
In the meantime, the person exited the building and got in his car. St. Anthony Police arrived on
scene, apprehended and questioned the individual in the parking lot.

St. Anthony Police contacted the employer to verify and it was determined the person was
scheduled to be in the building for construction purposes. ​It was determined this person had
legitimate reason for being in the building.
This person had legitimate reason for being in the building; unfortunately, he did not follow the
procedure and we responded accordingly.

When someone enters our school buildings without following procedure, we always proceed
with student and staff safety in mind.
