SPARE PART INSTRUCTION

THIS SPARE PART IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE FOLLOWING GENERATORS:

JEDI SILHOUETTE VR, JESRAD 30 , HI SPEED ZX/i, AND PROTEUS XR/A

1 - LABELS STICKING

• For CT & PROTEUS XR/A generators :

For CT :
On a 1st blank label, write 2214606-19 and stick it on the new kV control board
On a 2nd blank label, write 2214614-19 and stick it over the previous one on the software
identification label (on the EMC box)

For PROTEUS XR/A :

On the blank label, write the existing number on the failed kV control board and stick it on
the new kV control board

• For the JEDI SILHOUETTE VR and JESRAD 30 generators :

The label marked 2214606-21 must be sticked on the new kV control board instead of
2214606-16 or 2214606-17.

On a blank label, write 2214614-21 and stick it over the previous one, see location :

2.- DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE

• For PROTEUS XR/A :

Load the software and data base from the floppy disk existing on the site to the new kV
control board. See Service Manual Procedure.

1.- Load software file on Service Laptop

• Power ON the Service Laptop
• Under Windows, run the File Manager (Explore)
• Create a specific directory (e.g. JEDISVC) under C:\
• Insert the floppy disk delivered with the spare.
• Copy the file jedp4_25.exe from the floppy disk to the created specific directory
(double click on A:\, drag and drop on C:\JEDISVC)
• Unzip software file
The floppy disk supplied contains « Auto-zipped » files.
It is necessary to load those files on the hard disk and run them ; they will
unzip and create other files that you will use
Double click on the c:\JEDISVC\jedp4_25.exe file, and verify that the new file
(appl.mx) is created.

2.- If possible, save your local database.

Refer to Service Manual CAL JEDI 8-6.
If you have a backup data base on the site you can use it.

3.- Change the defective kV control board.

Refer to Service Manual D/R JEDI 17-26.
• Identify the manufacturers of U50 and U56 (Flash 29F400 or 28F400) of spare
kV control board. See chapter Schematics of Service Manual to localize these
components on the board.

 4.- Download in the kV control board, the saved local database or the default data base
existing in the floppy disk.
Refer to Service Manual CAL JEDI 8-6.

Default data base :

• For JESRAD 30 T32_1724.mx

or
• For SILHOUETTE VR E32_1724.mx
E50Rad12.mx (according to the installed tube
type)

5.- Download P4.25 software from the Floppy Disk delivered with the spare part.
Refer to the following procedure :

5.1- Restart your computer in MS-DOS mode (Start Shutdown)

5.2- Insert the floppy disk delivered with the spare part.

5.3- If manufacturers of U50 and U56 (Flash 29F400 or 28F400) of spare kV

control board are INTEL or ST (Signetics Thomson)
on prompt c :> type :

a:radup425 rad12 patch (Varian tube) or a:radup425 1724B patch (DRX Toshiba
tube)

If it is not the case, on prompt c :> type:

a:radup425 rad12 (Varian tube) or a:radup425 1724B (DRX Toshiba tube)

5.4- Wait aprox 20 min for software loading

5.5- Perform a checksum validation. Refer to Calibration Job Card « Checksum

Calibration CAL JEDI . Refer to Service Manual CAL JEDI 8-2 Job Card.
