2 ifand only ifits ones digit is divisible by 2 (i.e. the ones digit is either O, 2, 4, 6, or 8)
Ex: 92,659,354,236 is divisible by 2 since the ones digit is a 6
7 if and only if the difference between 2 times the ones digit and the number formed by
its remaining digits is divisible by 7
Ex: 192 is divisibleby 7 since 2 x a = 6 and 7 is divisibleby 7
441 is divisible by 7 since 2 x 1 = 2 and 44 —2 = 42 is divisible by 7
11 if and only ifthe sum of the digits in the Qdd_Qlaces (ones, hundreds, ten-thousands,
millions, etc.) minus the sum of the digits in the even places (tens, thousands, hundred-
thousands, ten-millions, etc.) is divisible by 11
Ex: 363 is divisible by 11 since (3 + Z) —6 = O is divisible by 11
737 is divisible by 11 since (Z + Z) —3 = 11 is divisible by 11
12 if and only ifit is divisible by both 3 and 4
Ex: 156 is divisible by 12 since it is divisible by 3 (1 +5 +6 = 12 is divisible by 3)
and it is divisible by 4 (56 is divisible by 4)
