Divisibility rules or divisibility tests are ways
of determining whether a whole number is
divisible by another whole number without doing
actual division. It is done by examining the digits
of the number.
10. Divisibility by 11
If the sum of the digits in the odd places and the sum of the
digits in the even places are equal or their difference is zero
or a multiple of 11.

Examples: 5 436 ODD EVE ODD EVE 794 ODD EVE ODD

5 4 3 6 7 9 4
ODD 5+3=8 ODD 7 + 4 = 11
EVEN 4 + 6 = 10 EVEN 9
The sums of the digits in the odd and even places are not equal, so 5 436
and 794 are not divisible by 11.
