Re: CEAL Youth Jam Reconsideration

Dear Rev. Frs. And Sisters,

Greetings of Peace!

The CEAL Youth officers would like to appeal and have a reconsideration process
for the upcoming CEAL Youth Camp this year. It was proposed to be cancelled during the
Administrators meeting at UST-Legazpi last November 21, 2018. The reasons for the
cancellation of the said activity was presented during the meeting and also the committee
already seconded the cancellation of the CEAL Youth Camp.
We understand the reasons for the cancellation. That the administrators wanted to
return the camp to its original time frame - November. The Venue for the said event which
is UST-L will be hosting the CEALympics of the Faculty Commission this January. The
Diocesan Commission on Vocations together with ACPIL will be having its Vocation
Jamboree. Also, there is also a BACS Youth Camo. And the schools have a lot of activities
and schedule in the remaining time frame.
The student representatives of the different Catholic Schools have its members to the
council, and the said cancellation was already been talked about during our meeting. Due
to that we have formulated reasons why should the camp should be pushed through:

1. We celebrate the year of the youth this year in the Philippines.

2. CEAL is an annual activity for the past 11 years.
3. This year we envision that the camp will be correlated to the Youth empowerment and
in line with the visions and ideas of JEEPGY therefore making the student familiarized
with JEEPGY.
4. The requirements are already done and the CEAL leaders completed the preparation
of the said activity such as Budget Proposals, Criteria for all the Activities, Program flow,
Registrations, Arrangements of the stage designs and other concerns.
5. BACS Youth Camp itself is different from the CEAL Youth Camp
6. BACS youth camp is only participated by few selected students from all the schools of
CEAL and as one delegation representing the whole association, and CEAL Youth Camp
is more likely known for the reasons that they are participated by more numbers of
students from all CEAL schools.
7. CEAL Youth Camp is the inner body of BACS because the participants are allowed to
share their thoughts about CEAL and find more companions therefore enriching
camaraderie and close ties between students.
8. The previous approved date of the administrators is February 1-2, 2019 which is
Saturday and Sunday.
9. The Diocesan Sub-Commission on Vocations have canceled the Vocation Jamboree
as the Diocese will be hosting the Regional Youth Day and vocation promotion will be
integrated to the Diocesan Youth Commission events.
10. It is okay that the Youth Camp be brought back to its original time frame and this
February we will be having a Youth Jam instead. An overnight event like youth camp.
Therefore, we are requesting that the CEAL Youth Jam would be taking a reconsideration
process for it to happen. Hopping for your consideration,
