Ecological Stability

According to Cleland (2011) Climate change and other human actions towards
environmental issue will continue to cause and damage the biodiversity loss in the future
to come, and because of that phenomena it may also cause the extinction of other species
in the environment. Today’s concern about the stability level of natural environment and
human made environment has given the myriad global changes already happening. The
word stability can be defined in many ways, it also defines as a stable system that have
a low variability despite of the changes in the environment that can happen, it also means
the resistance system. In contrast with this, when the word stability is defined at the
species level, in only means that more diverse assemblages can have a lower species –
level stability. It because every individual that involved in the community has a limit, for
example the amount of species in the community increases, the average population sizes
of the species in the community decreases. it may also vary in the area of capability of
the species if its able to adapt the needs of the community, it is useful to place a species
that can’t adapt to the environment and it only hurt the others to survive. The smaller
population size of a species, it has a higher percentage to extinct due to changes,
fluctuations. Thus, when the word stability is use as a term of maintaining a specific
population or other species in the society, the it only means that the diversity increase in
random assembled society must accept a higher chance of stabilizing the ecosystem.
