DISCOVERING CULTURES…

In the next article i’m going to talk about the Italian and
Colombian culture, these are really different and it’s good to
learn a little of them

GREETES.
In Italy people greet first shake their hands then give two
kisses in their cheeks but they start with left cheek, without
pinking their lips and they say things like (ciao, come stai, il
mio nome è ... molto felice) while in Colombia people greet
with just shaking their hands when they don’t know each
other, if they know each other kiss their cheeks, clasp their
hands or they hug, and they say things like (hola, como estas,
mi nombre es… mucho gusto).

TABOO.
Bouth in Colombia and Italy, most religions are the same,
therefore they have the same beliefs, some these are:
catholic, Jehova witnesses, orthodox, protestants, mormons
and etc.

In some religions don’t eat or drink:

 Meat of dog, cat, cow, buffalo, horse and pig

 No food that has blood
 Coffe
 Insect
 Plants
 FOODS OR BEVERAGES TABOO.

Really i going to talk about the italy because i don’t know what
are foods or beverages taboo in Colombia since i’m
Colombian and i haven’t seen or Heard any prohibitions
because it’s a contry free expression.
 No seafood can carry cheese.
 No lemon on seafood
 No coffe with milk after 10 a.m.
 Caffe latte isn’t coffe
 They don’t eat salty or sweet
 They only drink French or italian wine
 Every day drink wine

TABLE MANNERS.

They have some same things, let’s see...

ITALY:
 Don’t scratch yourself
 Dont’t stare at your guest
 Don’t make noise while chewing
 Don’t offer something from your own plate
 Don’t smell the foods and beverages
 Don’t offer drinks and meals that you've already tried
 Don’t talk with their mouth fill
 Turn off their cellphones
COLOMBIA:
 Don’t wear a cap or sunglasses
 Don’t slurp
 Don’t open your mouth while eating
 Don’t start to eat until the old people say “good food”
 Don’t place their elbows on the table
 Don’t eat chewing gum
 Don’t use the cellphone
 If they’re boyfriends theyr’e kiss

CLOTHES
Man likes wear clothes formal like suit, tie, and pants all time,
sometimes they wear shorts, polo shirts, cargo pants and
something and the women wear skirted suit, elegant dresses,
shorts, dress shoes an something, while in Colombia people
wear clothes casual as they feel better, wear shorts, dresses,
skinny pants, t-shirts, cropped top, tank top, jacket and
something.

CONCLUSIONS

 Different cultures is good because people can learn more

than they think, and they won’t have problems when they
travel to Italy or colombia.
 it’s convenient the people know these things, for can they
teach to someone more, i’m really fell love the Italy and
dream with some day i can visit this conuntry and know
more things of its culture.
