English 1301 was by far the most challenging class I have ever attended. Even though I
struggled and there was a ton of work involved, but I definitely have learned from this class. The
primary take a ways from English 1301 are time management, efficiency, and work ethic.
Time management is the key to passing any class. Especially this English class! I have
had plenty of problems with that this summer session. For what reason? I don’t even quite know.
I think that it is mostly because I am simply not used to the workload and pace to which we were
moving. On the bright side I realized that time management is a very important aspect when it
comes to any class. Being 110% positive when due dates are is important as well. Knowing due
dates helps gauge how much time you have in order to complete a project. Being on time gets
Now, it is not only about time management, but efficiency as well. This is something that
the Visual Rhetorical Analysis Project has taught me. At first, my idea was to make a mini
animation. Considering I’m fairly good at animating and have experience I thought it was going
to be easy. I quickly realized that that was not the case. If this was a normal 16 week session we
might have had more time. In that case I would’ve been able to make and animation. However
we were in a time crunch and I had to settle for a website like the rest of my peers. Doing a
website I could finish it on time and efficiently but if I were to do an animation it would’ve been
Finally the most important thing that this class has taught me is that if I honestly want to
survive in college in general I need to improve my work ethic. In order to do that I really need to
think ahead and plan properly. Taking all the essays helps me understand exactly how important
that is. I noticed when I planned everything out it was easier for the final product.
Overall this class has taught me important life lessons that will help me survive college.
