JIGSAW PUZZLE ACTIVITY

Materials needed:

• Envelopes with pieces of a jigsaw puzzle containing words and images to form a
sentence.

Activity Title: Sentence Jigsaw Puzzle

Description of Activity:

1. Give each student an envelope containing pieces of a jigsaw puzzle with words
which form a sentence using the structure there is there are.
2. Tell students that they should work individually to create a coherent sentence using
the words and the images from the envelope. They will observe the image to
describe it using the words given. Once they get the words organized into the best
sentence possible, they should read their sentences to the class.
3. Once students share their sentences. The teacher shows an image, then everyone
has to say at least one sentence using there is / there are.
