NET OUTCOME OF GEO-TECHNICAL SOIL INVESTAGATION

By having soil investigation, we get to know

1. Ground Water level if encountered.

2. Chemical content of soil & water, which will help us to determine the ways to minimize the
deterioration concrete & chose the suitable cement according to chemical composition of
soil.
Chemical test to find out the percentage of following in soil & water is generally done.
a. PH
b. Chloride
c. Sulphate

3. Based upon physical properties of soil sample tested, design of foundation can be
considered for civil work.
Suitable pile design can be determine. Net Safe Soil bearing capacity is also determined.
Following are the the various test to determine physical properties of soil sample.
a.Grain size Analysis or particle size distribution
b.Atterberg‘s limit
c. Natural Moisture Content & dry density
d. Specific Gravity
e. Swell test or Swelling Parameter
f.Shear parameter.
