Generation division is responsible for the large scale power production, physical optimization and trading activities in the Nordic area. This division comprises
nuclear, hydro, wind and thermal power production, portfolio management and trading, industrial intelligence and nuclear services.

Trading and Asset Optimisation (TAO) organisation optimises the best price for electricity production and consumption and hedges earnings from these operations
with commodity derivatives far into the future. About 95 TWh of physical electricity trading and about 200 TWh of trading in commodity derivatives pass through
TAO each year. We operate in several commodity exchanges such as Nasdaq Commodities and ICE, as well as physical electricity markets, Nord Pool and TGE
(Polish Power Exchange). We also operate Fortum's hydro plants to enable total optimisation of our hydro fleet in the volatile energy market. In-depth
understanding of the electricity business and market knowledge are an essential part of TAO's business. In addition, TAO Ventures pilots new start-ups such as
Fortum Spring and Fortum SolarPlus.

Your role

We are looking for a Spot Trader to join our Asset Optimisation team in Espoo. The Asset Optimisation team is part of Physical Trading unit which is responsible
for optimizing Fortum’s Hydro, Nuclear and Wind portfolio and trading them on the day-ahead, intraday and ancillary services markets. We are also responsible for
consumption forecasting and procuring of electricity for our 2,4 million retail and B2B customers. You will be a part of a team where operative tasks are combined
with development of tools and processes.

improve your skills in Nordic electricity market while working in the Physical trading and hydro operation center of Fortum. In your daily work you will be in close
contact and cooperate with the whole physical trading team together with market analysis, hydro operators and balance settlement. The energy landscape is
changing rapidly and more focus needs to be put on serving our customers and in our team you can be in the center of it and help in defining new ways of
working. We are also putting much focus on digitalizing our business and renewing our optimization platform and you will be able to contribute.

Your qualifications

We expect you to have a Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field together with a passion for energy trading. You can be recently graduated or you have
few years of experience from the energy sector. In order to succeed in this position you need to have strong analytical thinking, trading mindset and a constant
hunger for growing and learning new things. In addition to this you work well under stress and IT skills such as VBA are to your advantage. As we are a pan-
Nordic team both written and spoken English is a prerequisite. It is an advantage if you master one of the Nordic languages as well.
