6 WEEKS CALENDER AND WORK DONE DURING INTERNSHIP

PERIOD
Week 1:

In the first week of internship they introduce about the different departments of PTCL.
The main purpose of PTCL is to provide best services to their customers. All departments
are responsible for the success of organization but the main important is marketing
department.in telecommunication PTCL maintain their position in many years ago and
still growing.

In this week I learn about the main functions of the different departments and their
importance. Week one is basically the introductory week. this week involves
introduction to staff, software’s, machines franchises, and different type of

8
departments.1st day of internship is very boring and confusing day because
understanding of different departments and software was difficult.

In the first week they told me about the main functions of the departments .many
departments in PTCL but in my internship I visit only three departments e.g, Finance
department and marketing department .PTCL has no HRM department. hiring and
training of work force their policy is not clear.in the finance department learn many
thing which I have never experience before I learn that how they manage their financial
like salary of employees ,customers bill ,utilities and expenses, HR department manage
all the functions of organization in proper way. Marketing is the main department in
every organization, the success of the organization depends upon the marketing
department. PTCL marketing department provides best way to capture the customers
and to gain the high profit.

In this week i am collecting all the relevant material about different departments. which
may help me in my internship

WEEK 2

Well week 2 started a little more different yet more exciting, we were exposed to B to C selling
that is door to door selling. We were assigned satellite town area under 2 field sales agents. We
went door to door on domestic ground and inquired people for new connections. It was a good
experience by communicating with people on ground and at the end of week made a ppt and
shared with the Assistant manager about our learnings. In the whole week.

WEEK 3 TO 6

From week 3 to 6 we were rotated to PTCL Exchange F8 branch under B to B Sales totally a new
experience in corporate world dealing with sales related to corporate sector in which PTCL is a
giant. For the first time we got to know that PTCL has an excellent corporate base.

In these weeks we learnt all by sitting in office rooms and working over excel sheets creating
excel dashboards and maintaining sales record for our senior manager
9
New learning experience

We tried and brought 2 clients for UAN number, in short we tried in our full capacity t sell 2
UAN numbers.

Similarly effective communication skills were learnt, team building and patience.

Conclusion
I have completed our job training report in about six weeks. During this time I have gained a lot
of knowledge and practical experience. After a thorough research work I will conclude that the
decision-making capacity in PTCL is fully established. All power is in the hands of the CEO of the
company. Key decisions are made by the board of directors. And confirmation of their decision
is provided by the president of the company. I have analyzed the organizational structure of
PTCL .The organizational structure of PTCL is straight forward. We can conclude that with the
reorganization of the PTCL Department of Labor in 2005, there is still a long way to go in order
to achieve competitive advantage. Although the strategies they use are good, they still need
further improvement to satisfy their employees and be used more efficiently by the workers so
that they too will be able to increase their market share.
