INDUSTRIAL TRAINING
L&T MHPS Turbine Generators Pvt. Ltd Dec 2016 – Jan 2017
Project Title: Optimization of cycle time of high speed rotor
• Performed Layout Study and drafted the Flowchart on AutoCAD after assessment of the shop floor
• Identified the bottlenecks in the shop floor by applying root cause analysis using the Ishikawa approach
2021

• Analyzed the sequencing techniques according to the resource constraints of the manufacturing process
Methodology • Carried out time-motion study for the slot-cutting required for the manufacturing of high speed rotor
• Brainstormed the routes for improvement & optimized the Process Parameters obtained from time study
• Implementation of Point-of-Use tooling with shadow boards, for the common tools used by operators
• Identified inefficient tool design and tedious maintenance process as critical reasons for above bottlenecks
• Suggested a plan which reduced 44 Man-hours, hence leading to a total saving of INR 4 lakhs annually
Deliverables
• Proposed the use of pneumatic spanner in slot-cutting of generator rotor, instead of manual clamping of bolt
Achievements • Appreciated by the DGM, for optimization of cycle time, with pneumatic spanner and Point-of-Use tooling
PGDPM Class of

Jyoti Automation Cnc Ltd May 2016 – June 2016

Project Title: Vocational Training at Jyoti Automation CNC Ltd
• End to End study of all sections in the plant, from the casting to assembly process of CNC components
• Performed Value Stream Mapping for shop-floor to identify and eliminate the Non Value Adding activity
Methodology • Monitored the material handling equipment’s to obtain key parameters for performance measurement
• Designed plant layout by Systematic Layout Planning approach to reduce the material handling cost
• Productivity improvement by creating optimal layout of machines for the job using Process Flowchart
• Devised a new U-shaped work cell to minimise the transportation & material handling losses in shop-floor
Deliverables
• Recommended a proposition, to upgrade to an optimal layout, which enhanced the productivity by 6.33%
PROJECTS
NIT, Surat Nov 2017 – May 2018
Project Title: Experimental Investigation and Performance evaluation f solar still using PCM
• Carried-out in depth Literature Review and Benchmarking for designing a highly effective Solar Still
• Performed feasibility Analysis and achieved a funding of INR 40,000 for formulating the best project charter
Methodology • Developed a Mathematical Model to obtain the variation of the outlet temperature with different factors
• Obtained the productivity experimentally and compared performance of solar still, with and without PCM
• Analyzed the performance of the two versions of solar still on Tecplot360 by using a Scatter Plot
Deliverables • Integrated Phase Change Material with Solar still, which resulted in an increase of 29.09% in productivity
