Course Description English 1 Remedial English attends to the interpersonal, informative and aesthetic needs of the learners by employing a communicative, interactive,
collaborative, integrated and interdisciplinary approach to learning with the aim of developing autonomous language learners who are aware of and are able
to cope with global trends. Being one of the major learning areas wherein learners develop their confidence and facility of expression especially in using the
language efficiently and become effective communicators and critical thinkers in this challenging times. This intensifies students’ acquisition of the four macro
skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The varied activities enable them to be proficient in the use of the English language and provide them venues
for growth and development as social and mature individuals that will surely ensure them to be competitive and empowered citizens of this country and of
the world driven by the TCC graduates attributes.

 News Recap Writing  The students will be asked to read or listen to a news report, then
after such, they will be asked to make a recap of what they have heard
and read. In writing, they are to consider the correct and proper usage
of content words, connectors following the correct syntax in writing
the sentences. Please refer to Rubric No. 2 or 6 or 7 for the news
recap writing.

Students are expected to:
