Reflection on the subject MGT02.


The subject management 02 is about organizational behavior and I have learned a lot of
things from one of my amazing professors, Sir Gerald Dizon. Organizational behavior is used by
managers in a company for the business to be effective. The manager has 4 important roles in a
company which are planning, leading, controlling and organizing, these steps should be followed
by managers to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness in a company. I learned in class that there
are different skills possessed by a manager, these are the technical, human and conceptual skills.
Technical skills are the ability of a person to understand concepts within his expertise while
human skills are the ability to understand and perceive what other persons perspectives are and
conceptual skills are the ability of the managers to develop a set of possible solutions when they
encounter problems in a company. I learned that an organizational behavior follows a certain
hierarchy or system, this is important to identify and help manipulate major human
organizational variables that affect the results the organizations want to achieve. In a business it
is important that everyone communicates well because communication is an effective tool for
expressing and sharing ideas to other people. It involves two persons: the sender and the receiver
however there are barriers to communications such as personal, physical or semantic barriers.
These barriers interfere with the communication line between the sender and the receiver. I also
learned from Sir Gerald that giving the employees motivation and reward boosts their
performance in the company because it engages them into their course of action however some
employees work hard even they do not receive such rewards. Another important thing in a
business is the leadership skills because no one can drive a company without a leader, someone
must stand out and lead the way for their organization. Lastly I learned from sir Gerald that stress
in one of the leading factors for a lot of problems so stress must be eliminated but not totally
because stress somewhat gives other people the desire to work or it serves as their driving force
in life in order to work hard and achieve success.
